I've been waiting for this video haha, I think older Rhaenyra's costumes are going to be much more in tune with a Targaryen stately woman, for it. Now she realizes she really has to go toe to toe with the queen, ironically the next episode title is The Princess and the Queen, And there was a scene they showed that is from the episode, (I won't talk about it due to spoilers) But it shows Rhaenyra In a very natural, vulnerable state and all we could get is the striking resemblance of Aemma her mother. It was almost eerie the resemblance.

And honestly, I absolutely love and look forward to your videos after every episode and the live stream as well.. both are very informative and quite interesting to take a different point of view regarding fashion and how it represents certain Easter eggs other than the norm... But the GOT universe has always been good with that as far as telling a whole other story through costume and clothing.

I will never get over the fact that they cut Alicents wedding. Firstly, the costume looks amazing. But the scene would also serve as this great symbolic difference between her and Rhaenyra, former best friends, now rivals. Alicent has a perfect pristine wedding, but is in a loveless marriage of duty. Rhaenyra has a disaster of a wedding with literal blood pooled on the floor while she says her vows, but ends up in a friendly arrangement that suits all parties, if not the wider society and the royal court 😄

Alicent's wedding dress looked awesome! AND HER CROWN!!! Where did THAT come from?! I don't hate it at all, but I thought her crown would look more similar to Viserys's. Oh, what we were snubbed of!! Would've loved to have seen that dress in action! My top 5 Rhaenyra costumes are 1- Fabulous overcoat 2- Hunting outfit 3- Wedding dress 4- Dragon riding outfit 5- Red brocade dress during her walk with Laenor

That was such a great catch with the alligences being hinted at in clothing, the tower. I loved your reaction to them not being sure if people would notice she wore green. 'Cause I mean, wow. I am so in love with those split sleeves. I also feel so stupid for not realizing they were dressed in opposite colors. Though Joff would have also be in "white" and "Black" which also are the two colors for death. Maybe I'm over reaching there. I love the idea of Alicent's hair being a crown. Wasn't that also a greek trend that you sound in their hair before? THe riding levels were GREAT and it looks so great. I admit I wasn't really loving Rhaenyra's wedding look. :/

Why don't people like Rhae's dress during the wedding? It looked Targaryen, while also sassy and dragon-like, but proper for a pre-marriage ceremony banquet. I loved her wig. It was over-the-top, but I mean... that's the point. Nobles tend to wear outlandish garments to upstage one another.

I feel so conflicted about the costumes in this show so far. Some of them are truly stunning and really add new dimensions to the world and story while others feel very out of place for me, even though they are beautiful. It's mostly the female characters and it might be because of what you talked about in the video about the undergarments. Some of the dresses fit in a way that looks very modern and the impression I get creeps into Reign-territory. It feels like modern day women in costumes. I've mostly felt like that about Rhaenyra's dresses and how they fit. I loved the overgown though!

I really liked Rhea Royce’s armor, but Daemon looked slightly ridiculous in that floppy hooded robe. Would love to see the leather jacket he wore to the wedding in better light, it looked gorgeous. As always, thanks again for the photos and explanations.

I like the costumes more and more but I still think many of the pieces the ladies wear would benefit so much from proper undergarnments. I always catch myself thinking how would´ve this or that looked with proper undergarnments. I like the men´s costumes way better.

Loved the episode! Favourite costume was either Rhaenys', Rhea Royce and Laena at Driftmark (WOW the details!). Least faves were Laena and Rhaenyra's wedding dresses, the sleeveless white dress looked out of context with everyone else and the ruffles on Laena were just strange ala Margery Tyrrell's tube dress lol. The men's costumes are all just amazing. I laughed when Daemon walked in to the big formal event wearing basically flashy leather armour/riding clothes, showing just how seriously he doesn't take the wedding compared to everyone else.

Hi Minty, thanks so much for commenting as always! I talked about Laena's ruffles in another video. I think it would have been alot prettier without it and I agree that her outfit at Driftmark was really lovely. I have mixed feelings about Rhaenyras wedding dress. I like the fabric but some of Rhaenyra's silhouettes have not worked for me (although I like her dragon/horse riding outfits)

@@Costume_CO I really liked the scaley/dragonskin effect of the wedding dress material (I wonder if it's the same fabric as Alicent's blue dress?). It would have looked more appropriate with some sleeves maybe like her red tour dress in my opinion. I feel sad we never got to see an actual wedding day dress!

I agree. I think the costumes were the best and the most consistent this episode, as well. Some of the women still needed support undergarments for the tight bodices they wore, but Alicent didn’t suffer for that in that green gown. How interesting to know it was made up of three different green fabrics. I also totally did NOT get that Laenor and Joffrey were mirroring each other in their hair and wardrobe. Once you pointed it out, I was slapping my forehead and saying, “How did I not see that?!” But, I guess what makes it very skillful is that it probably did register with me on an unconscious level. I actually didn’t like Rhaenys’ riding outfit. I get that she wouldn’t wear fancy leathers when she’s out riding; I just wish she’d had on darker or, perhaps, deeper colors. I feel like those tans and caramels washed her out, especially with the silver wig, which I also don’t like. I think hers, Laena’s and Laenor’s are probably the worst on the show. Corlys’ wig actually looks believable. I’ve seen men with grey dreads like his, although not all white. Thankfully, the clip for the next episode shows an older Laenor and his hair looks much better. It’s also pulled back, which helps.

Hi Rikki, I'm not sure. I did a video talking about the silhouettes and the lack of proper foundation garments contributing to the problem. I do like a few of her outfits but I think Alicent's are much better. As princess, Rhaenyra should have the better dresses.

Rhaenyra's bridal outfit looks an absolute mess when comparing her ensemble side-by-side with Alicent's gown. I've been quite disappointed with most of the costumes - the exceptions are the men's costumes. The men look fantastic - the women look jumbled and only Alicent seems to have a consistent style and source of inspiration.

I think the show leans a little amateurish. I would love a touch of reality but the show got too woke for a brutal world with serious themes the politics don’t seem complex and tricky, the romance is somewhat taboo but can be a little sweet so that’s nice wish they went all for it no reason to hold back, but it’s lacking sooo much on the dialog! It’s all so plain! It feels cheap and dumb, where are the twists and turns? Is going so slow too. I need more cause it could be great.
