Is Rob one of your support workers? I had some for years and it's nice when they become good friends. I had plenty of workers who also brought a lot of not needed stress into my home (because of things happening in their own lives) and as bad as |I felt for them, I couldn't have that energy in my home every shift they did. I had two workers at a time throughout parts of the day and you have to consider the work environment for other workers too. It's good that you are having renovations done to make life easier so you don't have to move. Cause you never know when a machete wielding murderer will show up at your door lol! That's pretty cool though! I know that feeling you talked about when being in a room full of other wheelchair users. I've been using a wheelchair for 13 years. I can't quite describe it either, but you don't feel 'different' or 'out of place' anymore.
