This made my TM warmup and cooldown fly by! It’s too funny and entertaining to have watched it during the 400s/800s sandwiched between😅 The stuff about YOURWIFE is adorable. You were absolutely right, of course, that you have enough presence in the running world to have gotten plenty of recognition and shoutouts. What a thrill to have Kofuzi cheering you on to the finish line, and also the elusive, beloved steevie76 shouting his heart out for you (SOMEday we’re going to track him down in person😂) Funny thing about all the YOURWIFE bits is that MYHUSBAND (who serves as my Run Caddie quite often) is the opposite, despite my not having a running channel whatsoever, let alone thousands of followers like you.

Awesome. Looking forward to Season 2, Electric Boogaloo 😂. One comment, from my over 30 marathons of experience I have concluded that for me, carb loading is not helpful and in fact counterproductive. I now follow a low carb diet to train my body to burn more fat, then run the marathon mostly drinking water with a few Gatorades and one or two gels. You might want to try this in the future as it completely removes that bloated, heavy feeling that many get from eating a high carb diet.

Somehow I missed you at the finish. I was primed to give you the correct ’Wanker’ pronunciation, but anyway, perhaps I was distracted by the CPR and proposal happening at the same time. Regarding pacing. Have you considered an even paced strategy? I aim for that (especially on flat courses) as I hate the idea of leaving 2 mins or so on the table in the first half, and then trying to get a faster pace out of myself in the last part to make it up. I’m always trying to get to 21 on pace, and then it’s up to me. Being at 21 and a couple of minutes down is a tough spot in a tough spot. Just a thought. Great run! 👏👏
@MidLifeRunner10 ай бұрын
Would've loved the proper Wanka! shout out. I think for the next one I want to run a little closer to even pacing throughout. If I give up time, that means I have to run in front of goal marathon pace to get it back. And what if that is the thing burning too many matches? worth exploring

Its how my brain works. Been on both ends of it, but it felt a lot better when hanging on meant the prize was in front you (but just out of reach), rather than being behind and trying to pick it up in order to maybe catch a glimpse of it again.
