Been using this mouse for the last 4 or so years. Best mouse I've ever owned. It's so lightweight that it actually feels weightless. Allows for much faster twitchy gameplay and accuracy in fps games. Highly recommended. It's usually sold out at Microcenter and other such stores. Count yourself lucky if you can find one. The absolute best PC purchase I've made in a while for sure!

I mean, this could actually be a pretty cool idea. Inductive magnetic levitation is already possible, and commercially available to an extent. I would absolutely buy a mouse that just required a copper/aluminum surface underneath it to hover ever so slightly. The main problem I see is power and size. Would they be able to make small enough coils that are powerful enough to still conform to the current form factor of a standard mouse? Again, it really only needs to barely levitate, something on the order of 5mm or so. Wireless is almost certainly out of the question, but then the target customer for this would probably already have a bias against wireless anyways.

not a copper pad but magnetic pad, your mouse being a electromagnet repeling the pad. BUT STILLL nope not that great in terms of power consumption...you could say "im rich" but overall the energy would be a huge waste. you could have spent this energy elsewhere

@@pain2737 I said inductive magnetic levitation. Similar to how the hendo board works. You would need basically any surface of pretty decent conductivity that is specifically non-ferromagnetic. So yeah, copper or aluminum. And it really would not be THAT power intensive. A battery that fits into the size of the mouse wouldn't be practical. It would be challenging enough to make the coils small enough that fitting in batteries, that would only last minutes anyways, wouldn't make any sense. But wired up, I can't imagine it using more than a couple hundred or so watts. Heat might be a problem if the pad is small and you use it for extended periods of time.

Just look at the Hendo Whitebox. Now imagine that, without a big battery, a bit more powerful, quite a bit smaller, two buttons, and an optical sensor on the bottom. The more I think about it though, the more I see heat as being a problem. You would probably need to have a specialized copper mouse pad that is actively cooled underneath.
