@@tobiasbeige Welcome to Earth, that's the act that made him great in the 90s/aughts before he became neutered. He was a misogynistic asshole and the show was great because of that. Yes, it's not nice. Nice World is boring. He had some of the most amazing women on his show, and they knew how to play ball. It was an act. this is nothing.

@josephirizarry5195 80's. I first heard listened to him as a teenager in 1982 on WNBC 660. He's very tame compared to then but of course as a 70 year that schtick would seem very weird now.

I’m not a huge Howard fan anymore. Just because his show isn’t as entertaining anymore. But your comment just seems like a dated joke that young people make about old people. Even though the guy isn’t as wild of an interviewer anymore it’s clear as day that he is still an incredible interviewer in the way that he engages. It’s basically his voice to sum it up. And she isn’t exactly a vessel of charisma, so your fandom might be skewing your perception here. lol

@@zachharris3040 Um no, super dated in the way he interviews, only mentioning Charli´s hits from 10+ years ago when she´s a completely different artist now, and he didn´t talk about any of her later work that defines her as an artist. The whole thing felt like an awkward conversation with your dad who is clearly out of touch.

It was rude to ask about being braless or about if her mom was depressed, but I think Charli was a pro in answering them. On the other hand, conversation was flowing at some points and got to know some aspects about her art process and path, it really showed another side of her.

If this was Howard in his prime, when he was great, half the interview would have been him asking Charli about her boobs, and it would have been more in depth as well. He always got people to open up on his show, even when he was playing the perv. And it was an act. A much better act than this. Courtney Love said in one of her interviews that her feminist friends hated that she would go on Howard. But he was huge and actually a very nice person. If you were a lady you were agreeing to play ball with him and his act. Some of the coolest women went on his show.

Howard is known for getting personal. That's what made him famous. I will say, he's lost a good portion of that... not even sure what to call it... just... the swag to ask a racey question, AND, get a emphatic answer. I feel like his lead up to that, his inflection, wasn't perfect, and came off as creepy. Also just asking basic questions before that also.. he's just not as BANG ON as he used to. BUT, it's not out of the ordinary for him to ask personal questions.

It’s not that big, per se. Pop radio in America is playing her singles from the Brat album because they have had difficulty getting an audience in an age of streaming and podcasts, but it doesn’t help that her currently popularity is mostly driven by social media and the fact that the packaging of her album is merely the word “brat.”

Because she needs to reach a broader audience than just teenage girls and young adult women. I’m sure she knew of his reputation in media and thought this could be a challenge for her.

Ya know what, upon revision, this isn’t as bad as what I thought it was, Howard’s really grabbing at straws and wants Charlie to kinda be very Americanised, when clearly Charlie is so English it hurts, but actually this is just as cringy as that britney interview, both Howard and Britney are like “YEAH ARE YOU LIKE SUPERSTAR BRITISH CUP-A-TEA MEETING GWEN STAFANNNNNYY” and the English person in Charlie is just like… trying to modest or doesn’t see that as a vibe ya know? They put it down to “you’re just a wreck head then” your like a “weed or cigarette smoking don’t give a f*ck” but it’s not that, we just don’t feel the need to be all about names and brands which is ironic considering Charlie has created such a huge brand with her work lol! But that’s when the art should be seen instead, it’s a reflection of us, a reflection of our capitalist addictions… ok… sit down kid before you join the video essay gang. Breathe.

Everyone making comments doesn't even know Howard was once known as the "Shock Jock," so expect unusual questions. He tried to pull answers from her, and she sort of seemed bothered. She is a brat and me being old, cool, but know your audience. How people don't know who Howard is is amazing. She wouldn't be on his show if he wasn't someone high profile.

He’s not exactly a personality that Generation Z or even some millennials, which is most of the generations that listens to her music, listens to.

She was mainly a cult favorite who had one hit of her own from a teen movie and two hits singing choruses on other people’s singles. She’s starting to become more popular now, mainly on pop radio.
