The HQ Is Back On The Road Again

Over one three dat long weekend. I managed to get the engine and transmission back in the car running. Just slapped together the old 350 to get it going down the road again wile, the 406 is being built so we can have fun in the meantime.

We used to fill the oil pump with grease or vaso to help bring up the oil pressure after a rebuild. You tube gold mate.

I do that on the Holden V8s as you can't prime them easily. Chev is a bit more convenient.

U may have to uprade cooling when going to 400, strongly advised

Crack test the deck surface [crack around steam holes ]and sonic test the cyl bore [factory bores are thin and factory bores go wavy over time ] sonic test ensures u have enough ""meat""". get torque plain honed . Felpro only do 2 h/gaskets stock and high perf 1014 . Mls gaskets are exp .

Stupid question are 350’s engine mounts different? Engine mounts on the right side?

Yes, left to right the mounts are different, and yes they are in there correct spot.

Could you tell us your wheel and tire specs? Just wondering how big I can go without a tub or mini tub.

The rear is 15x8 4in back spacing. The diff is shorter than standard. Fronts are 15x6. I dont remember what offset of backspacing they were.
