A couple of tips. When working with those anodized fuel fittings, screw a fitting into it and clamp that in the vise. Secondly, when changing gears, do no lay the cover down, simply slide it over and hang it on the studs. Swap the gears and pop it back on. Less chance of getting dirt in the works. Third, once the new header have been heated, let em cool and spray some atf on em and wipe em down. Keep em looking nice longer.

Yeah some people use wd40 to spray headers down after cooling or washing the car / motor.

Back in the 80s Out in California I built super modifies that we ran a San Jose speedway. We ran the 3/8 track part of the San Jose Mile. We didn't have wraps I had to paint the car.. I also built the wings. The car looks great. At 72 it would be so much better to be able to put a wrap on. Saves a ton of time too. You are racing as I comment so I hope the night go's big time good. Good luck jesse!! wrapping tip if you guys don't do that.. your edges on the front edge of the doors if you leave them an inch or two long and then wrap it around edge, you'll get some more life out of your wraps and keep them from peeling

When we put our wrap on we use a spray bottle with soapy water to spray the aluminum....makes getting the air bubbles out a lot easier and in the case you need to peel the wrap back a little bit while installing, it helps it pull off easier without stretching the wrap. My dad taught me that and thought I would share for everyone who installs their own wraps!

Good luck at the race's . Jessie I used to get a light snack then sit down or lay down with a good book to read . Always used to fall right off to sleep . I would also walk around the parking lot at night a couple times then fall off to sleep . I drove truck for 30 years and this helped with my hectic schedule with never a set time . Had to be available 24 / 7 / 365 all hours to run . You dont turn them wheels you dont get paid . Looking forward to you kicking some butt .

The best way I found to get the push lock fittings together is to get a aluminum or steel plug and put it in the vise. Then thread the fitting into it that way it’s not moving around. Then take a propane torch and heat up the fitting for a few seconds and slide the hose on.

Fun fact for yall to help build a little horsepower. You should buy an MSD non dial style timing light. MSD recommends a non dial style timing light. It makes the timing more accurate at the total timing when the engine is at full rpm. The part number is 8992. Found this out when timing my street stock.

Car looks and sounds really good! Just a suggestion; I wouldn't use the plastic fuel filter, I saw in the video, which was near the rear of the HTF 1. Those can rupture easily in a collision, and wouldn't want that to cause a fire to mess up that new beauty!

Have y’all ever tried using dish soap and water when you put your stickers on? Just use a old windex bottle, fill it with water and put 3 drops of dish soap in it. Spray the area of the car that you’re about to stick (do not wipe off, leave wet) . It makes it so much easier to work the sticker and bubbles.

Just a tip I’ve learned with doing vinyl lettering on dirt bikes. Spray a light coat of soapy water over the surface before you apply the wrap. Take a plastic or rubber applicator and smooth down the wrap taking out the air bubbles. Then take hair dryer/ heat gun and warm up the wrap to activate adhesive and dry up the water and soap mix.
