Hubert is so cool. I had the opportunity to meet him backstage at the Iridium one time. Very cool, very humble AND very confident. He is in the stratosphere compared to my bass playing but he was happy to chat and just talk about playing. Won't forget that moment.

I can't get over how honest and down to earth this interview was! Scott and Ian channelling all of our inner fanboys and Hubert just chilling and staying grounded the entire time. All these years, I had never looked up who played on that album! This has been very informative and made me a Hubert Eaves IV fan for sure. Another album from that era that has informed my bass playing (and band arranging) was Jill's Scott's 2001 live album "Experience: Jill Scott 826+"...I only recently learned that a 17-year old Thaddeus Tribbett played bass on it. Would love to see you guys interview him as well...hint hint,😉😉
