@@karenlaprez8358 Great picks. The Rolling Stones and Alice Cooper are definitely on my list as well. I could've seen the Stones in 2003 at SARSstock in Toronto as it was a free show but I stupidly decided not to go. The show was massive and I figured I'd be way back watching the band on the video screens or whatever they're called and wouldn't even see the stage. I was probably right about that but dammit I should've gone. Would've been my 2nd time seeing AC/DC and Rush played as well. Alice Cooper still puts on great shows from everything I've heard would be fun to see for sure. Just googled it and an estimated 450,000 to 500,000 people were at that SARSstock show. Happy BDay btw 🎂🤘

A few years a go,I saw Midge Ure play at the Record Bar in Kansas City.I didn't expect any shows in the US from Midge.i still can't believe he actually played with in 10 miles of home. After the show,I told my brother that if Midge can come here all the way from England, than I should not give up on ever seeing Thomas Dolby. Thomas is playing Kansas City in a couple of weeks.I have been a fan since the first album. He has never played any where near here before. Another artist I never thought I would see are Sparks,They played the Midland Theater last summer.I am pretty sure they had never played any where in Missouri before. As for artists on my bucket list; Yngwie Malmsteen Helloween Saxon The Fixx

I saw Billy Squier open for Foreigner and he blew Mick & Lou offstage! It was October 21, 1981 at the Nassau Coliseum, Squier was touring for Don’t Say No and Foreigner were playing their first tour after jettisoning two members. Squier and his band had such a high energy show and 4nr were more laid back. The winner was easily William Haislip Squier, from Massachusetts. I dig his first five albums, after that he gets a wee bit spotty. Cool show, folks. Thanks for entertaining us, every other Monday, for lo these many years now! Cheers from The Big, Bad, Bog of an Apple. Rock Out, Prog On and Pogo! Your clone and mine, ~ The Demonic Doppelgänger of Davey Cretin, from CRETIN CLASSICS.

Back in around 2004, there was a 5K in Chicago called something like the Rock 'n' Roll Shuffle where they had old new wave bands playing along the course. They had Devo playing at the finish, so I at least got to hear a whole set rather than 15 seconds as I whizzed by the other bands. Such an odd concept. Apparently events are still being held around the world, next one in San Jose in October, but I doubt Devo ever did one again.

A very belated happy birthday to Karen LaPreziosa, an all-star panelist if ever there was one! Regarding Pete's question as it pertains to Kelly Shaefer, I believe he was sadly afflicted with a particularly severe case of carpal tunnel and tendonitis--according to interviews with the man himself, he is still able to play while sitting down, but has difficulty making a fist for picking while standing, and thus delegated his own duties to be solely vocal-focused so as to keep live performances pumped with the same level of energy and intensity. Somewhat reminds me of Immortal's Demonaz, who also handed off guitar duties after experiencing nerve issues, and simply relegated himself to the role of songwriter and composer instead

Happy 'belated' Birthday greetings to Karen .., another great episode - i, totally enjoyed (although, i've been a subscriber to things rock|metal for 30+ years, there's so much more in which all of you make reference to that i find interesting and am yet to experience) the lone big concert that i had seen and was more than over-joyed to have attended was Scorpions in 2008 on their "Humanity: Hour 1" tour at the Queens Park Savannah (being on vacation) in Trinidad, Orange Sky was the opening act - the show was superb and a memorable one for me .. .., i missed out on quite a few showcases in Trinidad (not being able to afford a trip from Guyana) as Quiet Riot, Warrant, Firehouse, Blue Oyster Cult, Kansas, Dokken, Night Ranger, Skid Row, Hatebreed, Evanescence, the Iron Maidens all played there at one point in time .. .., wishing that i could have seen more bands in my lifetime (as much as you guys did or will most likely see in the immediate future) and that almost all that was highlighted, including Alice Cooper (am a fan of a few albums in his catalog, especially those with Kane Roberts on guitar), the bands that Count Ralfus mentioned (Atheist, Candlemass, Asphyx) and those of Chris Alo (Crypta, Nervosa), Ryan Skow always has much of the grandest of mentions that completely blows my mind (i'll definitely be checking out the albums by Scald, The Crown and Stargazer), Craig spoke of Krokus, Helloween, Rob touched on Accept, King Diamond, Katatonia and Pete's picks were excellent! .. .., i'm glued watching you guys - i mentioned and showed my wife: Elaine as to how much fun and an education (i'm continuously kept informed on the subject of so many great bands in the spotlight or obscure) sharing your own experiences, stories - reminds me of the years, as to when we had the Hit Parader heavy metal mag|fanzines, MTV's Headbanger's Ball, TBS Night Tracks, Much Music, now there's shows like "The Hudson Valley Squares" on KZbin - great stuff! .....

Couple of comments for a surprisingly fun topic! 1) did Ralph get a haircut???? 2) autopsy plays here in Philly at the Fillmore on August 31st. It’s the Decible anniversary or something. 3) Billy Squier played at Penns Peak, Craig should have been at this venue, once or twice in recent years. 4) does Nasty Savage still play once in awhile? I’ve never seen them

I just saw Ben Meyer at Uriah Heep, but he's not with Nasty Savage any longer. I've heard through a friend that Curtis is in really bad shape as he has been dealing with illness for a long time now. They're still technically active after quitting a number of times, but Nasty Ronnie is the only original member left. Being a Tampa area band I have seen them before.

Mine are: 1) Mercyful Fate - in 2022 it was traveling to see this or Nick Mason's Pink Floyd tribute and I did the Nick show. I really don't regret that, but neither tour hit my town and they both hit California a couple weeks apart. 2) ZZ Top - and even seeing them I'm still missing Dusty Hill. I had tickets to see them at a county fair which ended up being the hottest day of the Summer. I also had diaherria, so I wasn't going to spend that concert in 120 degree port-a-potties. I did manage to see Reverend Billy on his first solo tour though. 3) Heart - I'm actually seeing them in September! Long overdue! 4) Drudkh - Ukrainian black metal band that is located on the Eastern border of that country (Russian side). Unlikely to happen. I don't think they play very much (or at all?), but they're still active at least. 5) Ruins of Beverast - I know they've played MDF at least. I saw Billy Squire with Blue Murder and King's X in 1989. I saw Atheist open for Cattle Decapitation in Fort Lauderdale in 2019. I actually watched that in the balcony with their second bassist, Tony Choy! Good dude. Saw Discharge at a club here with Eyehategod. They were phenominal. And have seen Autopsy multiple times living on the West Coast, so fucking good.

Pete, Alice in Chains does tour fairly often, usually when they get around to putting an album out, and often on shitty summer tours where they're lower on the line-up, I skip those. AiC was on the Clash of the Titans tour because Death Angel got into that horrible bus accident. I did see that tour at the Lakeland Civic Center. Slayer was first of the three headliners that night as they were rotating slots (after AiC played first), and the first disc of Decade of Aggression was that show (incorrectly credited as the Lakeland Coliseum on the album). Although "newer", I'd add Lucifer as someone I'd like to see. And since Duran Duran was invoked, they're not on my list, but I'd go with another 80's group, the Eurythmics. Or Annie Lennox solo. She's one of the greatest voices of our time. King Alo you forgot Michael Bolton. But only if he's playing "Fool's Game". 🤘🏼

Stones were/are fantastic live. Saw them in 1990 at Maine Road. Mine would be Bardo Pond, a drone/Psychedelic band from Philly. Not sure they'll ever cross the pond again sadly. My favourite band the last decade or so is Blut Aus Nord, a Black Metal outfit from France but they've never played live so no chance of that (bit of a one man project). I'd like to see Tool and Meshuggah also

I've seen the King a couple times, but not MF. You're also missing out on a great festival in ProgPower. I've been at least fifteen or sixteen times. It's not a different crowd than any other metal crowd, meaning there's always a stinky guy like every other show you've ever been to.

Fast 'n' Bulbousfest: 1. Colour Haze 2. Motorpsycho 3. Troubled Horse (unsure about their status) 4. Rosalie Cunningham 5. The Sonic Dawn Blues Pills Causa Sui Jess and the Ancient Ones Mansion Spidergawd Spiders Teen Judge The Vintage Caravan It was a pleasant surprise that Witch played Austin Psych Fest this year, cuz J. Mascis was also doing a solo tour at the same time! Black Angels plays at least a couple times a year at their curated Psych & Levitation fests in Austin. Come on down, Karen, it's yr birfday! As far as all-time fave bands, the ones that broke up before I could see them, I've done my best to huff the fumes of their former bands via Paul McCartney, Robert Plant, Lou Reed, Jeff Lynne's ELO, P-Funk Allstars, Bob Mould, etc. Some of the ones below, I can't keep track of whether they're still cobbling together lineups for reunions, but I'd consider seeing them: The Rolling Stones Queen The Who Yes King Crimson The Chameleons Roxy Music Echo & the Bunnymen Killing Joke Bauhaus The Church Black Flag

I have never seen ELO in the 50 years of going to concerts. Jeff Lynne says this tour is it. It's over after this. I caved in and bought an expensive ticket. Is it really ELO with just Jeff as an original? I don't know. But he still sounds amazing and the band never sounded better. Same reason I bought those expensive Aerosmith tickets on the floor. I do believe these guys when they say this is it. Even if it's not.. Their on borrowed time and only have a few years left. It ain't the 70's anymore! Enjoy these shows while you can.

I saw Jeff Lynne's ELO two years in a row in 2018-19, and they played the exact same set in the same order, so I'm skipping this final tour. They did sound great, the only thing lacking was a drummer as powerful as Bev Bevan. I do encourage anyone who says they want to see them to do it now, cuz Lynne is no spring chickn. I fantasized that he would do a club tour and play songs by Idle Race and the Move, but that would never happen.

The last census showed that only 2.6% of the UK population have not seen Hawkwind live. Hell, I'm not their biggest fan but even I have seen both Nik Turner and The Hawklords as well. Dave Brock (God bless him) played Stonehenge on the 10th anniversary of its construction I think but crossing the Atlantic might just be getting a bit too much for him now. I'm still hoping the best Scandinavian prog bands (Anekdoten, Anglagard, Ritual) play the UK. They would complete my bucket list.
