Can we get a comparison with the rest of the world regarding RACE LAWS ?
@amandadewet40222 ай бұрын
Unfortunately many highly skilled job creators are leaving South Africa. This includes all race groups.
@bdunnigan732 ай бұрын
The fact that these race laws exist at all shows how backward their thinking is. You don't need race laws in a meritocracy so start moving that way and see better jobs, health and social services appear. How do we know this? Because successful multicultural nations like Singapore apply this principle and it unleashes the innate creativity of their people. Look how South Africa has stagnated and looks to be declining in comparison.

Does the Race Law Project measure how the laws were implemented and what impact these had? There’s certainly no violence involved in race laws enacted since 1994. Counting race laws seems a pointless exercise. It’s the impact that matters.
@bobronsons57802 ай бұрын
The violence is passive aggressive. Similar to how europe is currently being affected by migration warfare
@dewalddewet7592 ай бұрын
Race laws are evil, no matter what the impact may or may not be. Apartheid is apartheid.

@@dewalddewet759 You cannot compare BBBEE with the violence of forced removal for instance. That said, I agree there should be no law based on race. The law should apply equally regardless of race, religion or culture.
@dewalddewet7592 ай бұрын
@@bevturner2258 I can agree with only your second sentence. You can however compare BBBEE with any pre 1994 race based law, in terms of the impact on many many many white families and most probably their descendants for quite a few generations to come. This arguments absolutely holds water for people being kept out of the economy purposefully only because of the colour of their skin. Think of drugs, alcohol and violence within very poor families. This is a direct effect caused by BBBEE. We only need to look at our fellow black South-Africans who suffers from the same effects caused by the same kinds of laws from another era in our history.
@bevturner22582 ай бұрын
@@dewalddewet759 I’ve been involved in the administration of BBBEE incentives claimed by large companies for racially based employment practices. I know this makes employment difficult for Whites in certain levels of employment because I’ve seen the employment statistics. Apartheid era Job Reservation Laws would have affected Blacks in a similar way. Poverty does increase the likelihood of socially unacceptable behaviour, no matter the race. However, it’s not a given. The violence around the enforcement of apartheid era laws and the damage caused cannot be compared to social problems related to poverty. You can’t claim that BBBEE is the sole cause of family violence. It’s a complex problem, exacerbated by poverty. Violence inflicted by a government run police force and family violence is very different. There was absolutely nothing someone could do against police brutality during apartheid.
