Ron fairfax is the narrator…..a lovely kind man full of interesting stories and also a fan of classic cars ! I met him 15 years ago when he provided a free holiday for me and my son in France ….much appreciated Ron !

A repeat of my Hull Homage: As a Scot, I left Edinburgh to visit friends in Hull (Princes Avenue) circa Autumn 1971. One of those old afternoons, outside Pearson Park (at the junction of Princes Avenue with Westbourne Avenue), I had an in-the-passing, respectable conversation/meeting my now Darling Mary, who, at that time resided at ** Westbourne Avenue. Mary was walking a wee dog she had adopted from a rescue shelter (Bone by name!). Love at first sight: Mentally, physically et al. This September will be our 50th 'anniversary'. Thank you for re-igniting that memory via this upload, BTF S. I am a very fortunate 70 year old ... forever almost twenny-one! Stay free. Rab 🍻😎

@Keith Gibson , Thank you so much for this video my next door Neighbour migrated from Hull in 1960 and she just loved watching these it brought her to tears. Many many memories she was born in 1917 and had her 3 Children in Hull. She lived in Charles Street off Holderness ?Road.

Of all the videos about Hull I have watched this is by far the best. It has subtitles, as I am very deaf. It brought back many memories when I lived there. I was born in Gainsborough Lincolnshire because all pregnant women were sent there for safety from the bombing in Hull. I often wonder why William Wilberforce has never been mentioned on any of the videos. I worked in Scale Lane not far from The High St where his house is with The Black Boy Inn across the road . As a teenager we used to have a drink and bop to The Beetles there. I live in South Africa but my heart is still in Yorkshire.

Loved the Civil War drama. The writing and acting reminded me of one of the plays what Ernie Wise wrote.

Oddly enough the charming quality of this docudrama suits the character of the city of Hull since its development after WW2.

The high level railway lines are there! The plan was to use the Hull & Barnsley route which still circles the city today.

Please post the other videos! This one is wonderful, the best film about Hull I've ever seen, by far. Thankyou so much for preserving this for us all. Was it produced for television originally?

OMG> this is absolutely amazing! I need to know more about this video?!?! For me, the guitar solo over the shots of the Princess Quay shopping centre are just the pinnacle of the many many highlights contained within this video! Thrill a minute.

Thanks for your comments! I'm afraid I can't help you to identify the music, but there are credits right at the end saying who provided the music, my guess it's it's just incidental, maybe written for the film?? The footage is taken from a VHS video of the same name, originally released in 1993 or 1994. There was a series of them, a couple of the others are also on here and I plan to upload the others soon.
