@@flowerbee1626 same. In early 80’z (April 1984 to be precise) I was only 11 I Rebecca’s song, I thought of it as a kind of regimental song when they said in “the Lebanon” now I know what it’s about, it’s just as irrelevant today because of the bombing that’s started to escalated in the Middle East in Lebanon.

Read up on Hezbollah and their bloody history. Not even Lebanese. Read up on why there is such a huge global diaspora of Christian Lebanese. Sooo many in France, for example, and the US. Population statistics prove that ethnic cleansing in the Middle East has always been of CHRISTIANS as well as Jews. Since Muslim armies first invaded (from ARABIA) in the 7thC. Jews had already been there for 2,000 plus years at that point and Christians for 600 years.

I remember when this song came out. I don't know if I bought it right away or a friend came over and put it on my turn table. All I know is that the sound of this production was AWESOME - so powerful, and remains so to this day. Never saw this video before. Its pretty much amazing.

Kelly14UK, I fully agree with you. This song is definitely one of the best songs ever just like so many of The Human League's other hit. After learning that this song reached #11 on the UK pop charts and #13 on the NZ pop charts, I felt the song should've peaked in the Top 10. Still, I've loved this song since I first heard it in 1984 and I always will.
