Excellent video guys. I'm really glad I watched this I'm in the process of doing a coolant flush on my Corrado SLC VR6 and I always like putting in the OEM coolant. I went with Pentecost NF G-11 but after watching this video I feel that there's more inhibitors and additives in the Pentafrost E-Type which is G13 so I might go with G13 instead thanks again guys I really appreciate this video you guys are awesome 🙏

Advice please! I'm new to radiator flushing so this is what I plan to do. Since you cant get out all the coolant, it seem the only way to get the correct dilution after a flush is to find the total coolant volume from the manufacturers spec, then measure how much comes out when you drain it. The difference will be the retained amount of coolant, which we can assume will be pure water after doing the flush. So you add undiluted concentrate of the same volume as the retained water to make this up to 50% dilution, then add diluted coolant for the remainder. Is that the correct way?? If more than 50% is retained, you cant get the correct dilution though :(

Here's a dumb question. My my buddy just got a killerglass upper rad hose for his srt4. He wants to put red food coloring in his coolant. Will this damage it?

Question. I bought a 2004 jetta 2.0 used with 115k miles on it. I had a coolant leak in the temp sensor so i changed the housing. To my surprise when i peaked inside the engine there was rust built up. I took a better look at the resorvoir and it was nasty at the bottom. At this point I am wondering if there is a solution that I could do at home withouth taking the engine a part. I really enjoy the looks of the mark 4 jetta. I dont mind the lack of hp at all. It stick shift and I would like to save the car from ending in a junk yard. Please help.

any chance to explain the difference between the G13 and the G12 EVO?
@FirstOnRaceDayCapri29042 жыл бұрын
G12 Evo uses Phosphate, Silicate and OAT inhibitors, G13 uses Silicate + OAT, also i think G12 Evo is 100% Glycol unlike G13 which has 15% Glycerin

I had a quick question I have a 2005 C55 AMG and normally I use the pentofrost nf. so I was wondering if I have to mix that with water, or if I'm using the correct antifreeze?
@CRPautomotive18 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the delayed response. Yes. Pentofrost NF is the correct antifreeze and that since it’s a concentrate you should do a 50/50 mix with Deionized water (or distilled water if you don’t have access to DI water). We do not recommend tap water as it can lead to component failure. Hope this helps!

What if you don't put too much milage on your vehicle per year. Is there a time interval then, for G13 coolant being in your cooling system?

Hi, can i use the vw g13 in peugeot car? as i know peugeot coolant is OAT but G13 is hOAT as mark mentioned so what will be the effect?
@CRPautomotive15 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the comment. The G13 comes up as an optional pink H-OAT for Prestone AF # PAFR0901A that is shown in UK as applicated to Peugeots. We don’t have any data ourselves on your 2013 208 VTI Peugeot. If you flush and refill, you should be fine.

What about that bottle of Prestone that says “For use with all makes and models of automobiles”?
@justinv30806 жыл бұрын
It's basically a dex cool clone with some tweaks, it works but it's not ideal for cars using conventional green, but seems to mix fine with the newer long life coolants. If you flush all of your old coolant out you can use it in pretty much anything.
@alexitorres84525 жыл бұрын
Dont use it. It will destroy the aluminum in your engine.

distilled water has minerals in it? wtf? are you sure this mr Malone didn't make a mistake? distilled and double distilled is one of the purest forms of "water" .. Deionization is often used because its way cheaper. And maybe i' wrong but reverse osmosis is another different process.
@CRPautomotive15 жыл бұрын
Hi Anthony, Distilled water doesn’t have calcium and magnesium like tap water, but it does have other contaminants that it attracts. Deionized (DI) water actually does get all the minerals and contaminants out. Reverse Osmosis (RO) water is very close to DI water, just a different process. DI water is hard to find. It is bought in bulk at many car washes because it’s streak less (no minerals). Distilled is usually branded and sold retail so costs more. The point Mark was making is it is sometimes difficult to find DI or RO water at a local store. If not local and you need water to mix, use Distilled water instead of tap.
@diamondservices77553 жыл бұрын
You are very correct I deal with different water processes, distilled all the minerals are burned out to put it simply.

Great video, but I wish you would have mentioned the water mixture rate more. I am looking to see sunce I live in Florida, if it would benifit me to do with a 40/60 (60% WATER) mix instead of 50/50? Please let me know this today if you read this. I will be doing my flush and change later today or tomorrow.11-13-2016 Thanks again for all the great info! ------ SUBSCRIBED! :-)
@CRPautomotive18 жыл бұрын
Hey Dog-gone, sorry we couldn't get back to you on Sunday before the flush but we do have a response for you on that. The recommended 50/50 mix is the mix that the inhibitor formulation is based upon. By changing the mix to a 40/60 you will get the higher boiling point you desire but it will reduce your corrosion protection slightly. General car use in Florida should be good with 50/50, however if you’re racing on a track or have a car that run’s extremely hot (like some BMW’s) you may want to go with the 40/60. Hope this helps.

Hi CRP and Charles, coolant manufacturers say only use deionized water to dilute concentrated coolant, but most people/mechanics say to use distilled water. just wondering why the difference in opinions? thanks.
