Awesome thanks very much! I'll try and think of a few more topics. Any suggestions?

Really excellent Lave! I loved loop in terminator too... and the fact that the humour in it is subtle and just puts you at ease right before something scary happens :) excellent essay... more please :)

Great essay Lave. I have seen every Terminator and have to agree. They have all been utter crap since JC’s T2. “Listen. And understand. That terminator is out there. It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead.” That perfect cat and mouse set up is all you need to make a great Terminator movie. Not “we’ll audiences today want a bit of humour to break the tension of perfectly balanced tension, suspense and action.” - Some suit probably

Nice video essay, Lave - well done! You should do more of these. I stopped watching this series after the third film. I thought the first two were good and the series should have stopped there. I've never had any intention to finish watching these films and you've reconfirmed my decision.

Thanks Andreas. The video essay format was way more time consuming than initially thought but I did enjoy doing it. Especially when it started to come together. Yeah, I distinctly remember watching T3 in the cinema and walking out thinking it could have been so much better. You're not missing much with the sequels. Although I do think Dark Fate was an honest attempt at it, considering the circumstances like Arnie and Linda's age and where the story left off.

I mostly only had a problem with the humour in Terminator 3. I think the primary problem with most of the sequels is they are mostly a rehash of the earlier films. While Terminator Salvation wasn't great, I appreciate that it tried to do something different.

Yeah the humour was a big deal to me in T3. It was the first Terminator I saw in the cinema and I just remember thinking what the AF when Arnie went into the strip bar. Thanks for watching the vid and for commenting! 👍

T3's John Connor is what spoiled the film, for me. terrible casting :-/ keep 'em coming, Lave :-)
