WHAT DO YOU CALL A HUNCHBACK WITHOUT LEGS NOR ARMS ??? ... A MADELAINE CAKE!!!
@DarkHeroesForever2 жыл бұрын
You know what my take is, remove La Fidéle, remove the whole Le Jour D'Amour crap, and just make a mirror version of the first movie, by having Sarousch be the gypsy Frollo, where he has similar motivation to Frollo, but in reverse, and it would be out of retaliation (essentially a sort of humans vs mutants type storyline). I can't think of how Madellaine would fit, but I would have her had a similar role to Quasimodo in the first where she's been fed with all these false accusations of people, and when she sees Quasimodo living among the humans, she'll be surprised to find a deformed hunchback living peacefully, and Quasi would be her Esmeralda, as he would teach her what Esmeralda have taught him, which would make her question Sarousch's Philosophy in the same way Quasi had questioned Frollo's, which would soon eventually lead to her turning against him in the end, and decided to be with Quasimodo, romantically as they've gone through similar experiences. I know this sounds like a beat for beat retelling of the first, but if they want to make a movie solely for the reason of Quasimodo a love interest, they could have gone with that take, but I guess RaiserBlade's take would've been fine I guess, if they aren't gonna try to repeat themselves.

Five reasons why I don't like this sequel. 1: the tone is too light hearted 2: the new clothes on Quasimodo look ridiculous. 3: the animation is a down grade even if it's decent. 4: the characters are dumb downed and the new ones have no development. 5: NO ONE asked for this sequel to exist 😲

Oh also, I hate the love-stuttered protagonist stumbling like this. I hate it here, I hated it in Big Hero 6 the series, & even in good movies(The Goofy Movie) it gets annoying. Like, I get it, people do feel awkward around a girl, especially when both love each other, but it’s odd that most shows(Gargoyles, Class of Titans, & Avatar) we’re able to create convincing scenes of people trying to show love to each other, but both have trouble showing it. Love-Stuttered Protagonists, Twist Villains, & Fake Out Deaths are the most annoying trends in media.

One thing I liked about the Gargoyles in the first movie is the implication that they are Quasi's guardian angels. Since it's implied that God let Lucifer get Frollo's soul, why not imply that God sent three guardian angels to Quasimodo, especially since Frollo kinda, sorta killed someone on the steps of a majestic cathedral named after the Queen of Heaven.

Well, technically the Gargoyles kinda did originate from the book, albeit from this quote from it: “He therefore turned to mankind only with regret. His cathedral was enough for him. It was peopled with marble figures of kings, saints and bishops who at least did not laugh in his face and looked at him with only tranquillity and benevolence. The other statues, those of monsters and demons, had no hatred for him - he resembled them too closely for that. It was rather the rest of mankind that they jeered at. The saints were his friends and blessed him; the monsters were his friends and kept watch over him. He would sometimes spend whole hours crouched before one of the statues in solitary conversation with it. If anyone came upon him then he would run away like a lover surprised during a serenade.”

I never really noticed the whitewashing of Clopin and Esmeralda, since they play with the lighting so much that Quasimodo's bright red hair looks jet black in some scenes, but I just can't ignore Esmeralda's *green* eyes being *blue* now! And she has a ton more personality than Madeline, as you said! Disney, you really dropped the ball, here. But I can't lie, the end credits song is beautiful to me. The biggest thing that drove me nuts about Es was the fact her hair lost all its curls and volume she had before, her hair looks more wavy and skimpy. Plus I absolutely hate how she lost all her fun and feisty personality and basically became so judgmental towards her husband and never apologized for wrongfully accusing him

@kristinahuchison25113 ай бұрын
I don’t think they are. Part of it is Frollo NEVER questioned why they weren’t outside on the architecture with the other gargoyles, he simply asked Quasi why he was talking to a bunch of rocks. Plus the part Esmerelda is running after Quasi in the belltower and they try encouraging him to not run from her, somehow she doesn’t hear them?? Only part I have a gripe with (aside them clearly helping defend Notre Dame in the finale) is Hugo’s weird crush on Jolly the goat. It doesn’t even say as to how they became alive or why the other gargoyles can’t do that. The only other one that comes alive is the one Frollo stands on before falling to his death, and many have argued it was perhaps divine intervention and God Himself made the gargoyle alive to show Frollo the true nature of his heart

It's a trapdoor. A trapdoor under the bell that leads all the way down to the catacombs. Thing is, how does Quasimodo, living in the Cathedrale NOT KNOW of it, and how does Sarouche actually know? Are even small children expected to believe that Sarouche created the trapdoor? That's what I hated about that scene. Not the pretence of magic. The dumbass of it. Also, Zephyr existed for one reason - to be a small child that looks remarkably like his father.
@marks28072 жыл бұрын
What is worse is the implications of said trapdoor on the first movie. I mean getting Esmerelda out of the tower in the first movie was a major plot point. As was finding the Court of Miracles which was in the catacombs.
@kristinahuchison25117 ай бұрын
I heard somewhere the reason why they made Zephyr a child version of Phoebus, literally having no Romani traits, was to prove it was Phoebus’s child. Who the h*ll is gonna assume Frollo managed to get Esmerelda in bed when he literally asked her before she spat in his face, basically telling him to go f*ck himself?

They didn't even bother to make him mixed. It looks less like their child and more like Phoebus laid an egg and that came out.

Nah. The part with the disappearing elephant I’m still not getting, not to mention most of the circus tricks performed by Saruge isn’t even close to actual circus tricks from back then. Maddie said there was a tunnel under the stage, but how the heck did the elephant get through the tiny platform it was standing on?? Also the stage is NOT that freaking tall even for a small Asian elephant to fit under. The whole explanation of how he got the bell out with the same trick is just a bunch of hooey. At least with Esmerelda’s disappearing acts it clearly showed her using dust as a smoke screen and also using a big robe for dramatic effect while she slipped away. Frollo simply didn’t understand how either trick worked (which is the entire f*cking point of it being a MAGIC trick) and actually believed she was a witch. As for Zephyr, I don’t find him as annoying as everyone else does, aside he is pretty loud and noisy. But I don’t get why Disney didn’t do ANYTHING with him being half Romani as well as being half French. Why did he just become the child version of Phoebus??

This movie sucked so bad that I made my own version with Quasimodo paired up with an OC because Madellaine is SOOOO BOOOOOORIIIINGG!!!!! She's nice but that's about it that's her ONLY personality trait! Fanfics were better than the actual sequel! At least the fans actually care about the story and characters than trying to appease the part of the fandom that bitched about Quasi not getting the girl at the end. Edit 1/15/20: And why the focus on Quasi getting a love interest in the first place? It's kinda weird given his actor is gay IRL; they COULD have made a storyline where he discovers more about his mother. Maybe he finds out he has more relatives. But NOPE they had to push the love interest trope instead. As for the villains, literally an OC or another character like Frollo's brother or Fleur-de-Lys would have been way better than Sarousch. Heck the concept of Sarousch was wasted as it could have shown that evil isn't just restricted to wealthy religious zealots, that anyone regardless of ethnicity or class can be a malicious jerkass.

They should have made her part of the circus "freak show". Maybe made her frustrated because she just wanted to do the tight rope but she's just a "freak". Her and the other "freaks" don't want to steal but they have no choice because they can't live in normal society. That way you can keep the "don't judge the circus folk" arc. They see Quasi accepted and want to live honestly showing not all of them are actually bad. Quasi and her can bond maybe even have conflicting views because he lived a isolated life while she lived a life of being treated like a prop for people to stare or mock. It would have made the Madeline's relationship mirroring Quasimodo's theme they seem to be going for make more sense because she has no choice but to live with the circus making her trapped in a cage of her own. I dunno could have at least ran with the "looking past appearances to see the real person" angle they dropped the ball on. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

While I'm already scared they might ruin the movie, hopefully they do take more liberties and include more elements from Victor Hugo's book. Don't be too safe, but don't be too "out there" (see what I did there...?) I know Disney for the most part appeals to kids with the exception of Zootopia, but it wouldn't hurt for them to include more "adult storytelling." It probably could make a big difference someday. My personal analysis: I felt like your humor was kind of hit or miss, but that your character and plot ideas are really interesting and would work really well, so I "liked" the video. I think you could become really popular if you made videos breaking down the flaws of bad movies and shows, and came up with alternate stories and characters that would work well. Maybe come up with two or three possibilities for each video, and have people discuss in the comments which one they preferred. Just a thought, because I was really impressed with your ideas here.

Cause Disney probably hates his guts. He was Chip in the Beauty and the Beast sequels, and was a anthropomorphic bear in "The Country Bears" which came out the same year this sequel came out.

What does Disney have against Halye Joe Osment? They had him as Chip in "Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas", and in "Belle's Magical World", they had him as Zephyr in this sequel, and as a fucking bear in "The Country Bears", which came out the same year this movie came out.

I actually kinda like Quasimodo's song here. I know it's not at all as grand as "Out there", but it still has a cute melody and it kinda continue what he felt in the first movie, that he wanted someone to love him. :)

i really hate these kinds of sequels I'm referring to the one's that literally only exist to give the main character a love interest movie's like despicable me 2 the santa claus 2 and that frosty the snowman sequel they all just automatically assume you can't be happy unless you're in love well i guess this movie's very existence satisfies the people who whined on the internet about Quasimodo not getting with esmeralda despite saving her ignoring one of the theme's of that movie and that esmeralda isn't a sexy lamp for Quasimodo and that's basically frollos mindset these kinds of sequels also have the same mindset as that episode of the fairly oddparents

@kingandrewcecil3482 жыл бұрын
As bad as the animation quality of this movie, this is not even Disney TV animation standard, because even Disney's TV cartoons of the time have way better animation than this - instead it's on par with the cheap direct-to-video animated mockbusters like the ones from Golden Films.

I won't say that it's worst than Belle Magical World; yeah Quasimodo, Esmeralda and the others are useless or dumbs but at least they aren't as stupid as the Beast. Also, the animation is better than in Belle's magical world for sure! The songs are more memorable and represent what the characters's feel. They are horrible but there's a few efforts in them unlike in the garbage prequel. Another thing, the Beast is a jerk; even more than in the first movie. He treated Belle like crap, constantly complains on dumb things, almost beat her for no reasons and isn't sincere. He loose all his kindness and charm as well U-U Quasimodo is ok in the sequel; really creepy and stupid however not as much as the Beast.

Also, Raisor, what did the first film have to do with sexuality, again? Out of curiosity. If you mean like, "accepting other people for what gender they love, their flaws, what they look like, how they live, etc." then I can understand.

When Raisor talks about the first film having sexuality, he means "Frollo is angry because a Dirty Brown Heathen gave him a boner." It's easily the most overtly sexual Disney animated movie in the canon.
