The Hunt for the Wild Bunch - Extended Shortfilm

"The Hunt for the Wild Bunch" is based off of true events that occurred in the 1890's, involving Sheriff George Armstrong Chappell Jr. and a couple members of the well-known "Wild Bunch."
A shorter version that was recently posted, was an entry for the 'Carbon Shortcuts Project.' The requirements for time was 10 minutes maximum (plus 1 minute for credits). That said, we had to shave off 4 minutes of the original cut to meet these requirements. Luckily, we kept the extended version on our editing software to post afterwards!
The film is a spinoff to the classic movie, "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid," where instead the plot is in the point-of-view of the sheriff, George Armstrong Chappell Jr., who helped to round up multiple members of The Wild Bunch. The film focuses mainly on two specific outlaws: Blue John and Silvertip, who had a hand in several robberies and worked closely with Butch Cassidy.
After being appointed as Sheriff of Wayne County, Utah, George Armstrong Chappell Jr. settles in to live with his kids and his wife, Aurilla Sperry. When the marshal makes an unexpected visit to the house and informs George that a couple outlaws were spotted in the area (Blue John and Silvertip), George knows that he is the right man to take them down. He recruits a posse of men, and they set out to find the no-good, troublemakers. Watch the 11 minute, thrilling adventure to know what happens next...

Many don't know this, but George Armstrong Chappell Jr. happens to be our great-great-great grandfather. To work so closely with our family ancestry, and make a short-film about it, is an honor. Making this film strengthened the bond with our family, and especially with our grandfather, who is super close to us, and who wrote the script for it. We spent hours upon hours researching every little detail to make this as accurate as possible, while including some fictitious elements to add to the storyline. We hope you enjoy/enjoyed!
