The Hunters - Where are they in The Last of Us Part II?

So, the hunters all died in Pittsburgh in The Last of Us Part I, right? Well, not if you ask me. See, the hunters specifically in pittsburgh might all be dead, but that doesn’t mean there cant be other hunter factions in the last of us part ii. Join me as I explore the possibility of the hunter faction returning in The last of Us Part II and what their role could possibly be!
Hey everyone! In today’s video we’re going over everybody’s favourite psychos from the last of us part I, the hunters! While most people have their eyes on more interesting factions such as the military or the fireflies, lets take a step back and discuss the hunter faction from the last of us part I, and how they could return in the last of us part II. There were several factions in the last of us part I, even though only one was really featured in the trailers. So naturally that should mean that there are several factions in the last of us part II, even though only one has been featured in the trailers. I really do think the hunters will come back in the last of us part II. But what are you reading this for? On pushing inland in Santa Barbara right as you spawn in if you look in Ellies journal she was talking about how a group of hunters tried to attack her in dixie national forest (some like forest in utah) so we do know that the hunters are on the west coast and the east coast because in the first game you encounter them in Pittsburg

Damn, good observation! I beat the fucking game and didn't even notice they were in it background lore wise! I was just like "Infected? Yup! Seraphites? Yup! Washington Liberation Front? Yup! Rattlers? Yup! Hunters? They not mentioned but theoretically still there!" But you just showed they're more than just theoretically there, they're really mentioned in background lore! I wish I could give you a high five!

What if a few seraphites, who travelled all the way from Seattle to Jackson, and hunters joined together to attack Tommy and Maria’s town? The cultists want Dina/her child, the hunters want resources. Maybe the rest of the Fireflies joined them all as well?

Well, i doubt the fireflies as they were in part I would join up with hunters and cultists, as it would be detrimental to their ultimate goal - to cure the disease and restore America. But a rouge break-off faction from the fireflies or remnants could definitely do it. The hunters and seraphites would be possible, I think. But it would probably be a fragile alliance, and how they would initiate it at first is also a good question as both probably would be hostile to each other.

Wow... I'm totally agree with you, i don't think that the Seraphytes will attack Jackson, it could be any other group like the fireflies (they have more reasons to do that) or any other new group but, anyway, i think that this Ellie's travel will take her to seattle because she wants revenge, revenge with the fireflies or any other group but she will end it up in this place with this cult and she will realize that those guys are fighting with the fireflies (i think that because of the trailer of the mystery woman, is obvious that she belongs to another group) The point is that the Seraphytes are completely hostile and kill every stranger they see, but i wish to know, why they refering to Ellie like "The Wolf". That link her with the mistery woman? They know her since before or is just a nickname that she earned? I don't know, everything could happen:( but maybe, this cult is linked with Ellie's past, her mom.

I don’t believe the fireflies as an organisation are driven out of revenge. They’re idealists fighting for a romantic future which is not really reachable. However a break off faction, a rouge group or even remnants from Salt Lake City could very well attack, as then they’re not really fireflies anymore - just people who were fireflies before it all went to hell for them. The link with the name “wolf” between Ellie and the MW is certainly interesting. At the moment I’d say a “wolf” is an enemy of the cult, much like the military calls people outside of QZs stragglers and the hunters call people tourists. Of course it could also indicate that the MW and Ellie has some sort of connection, we’ve seen so little so it’s hard to say. Anyways thanks for the cool comment and thanks for watching :)

TheiPadCat Yeah, maybe a "wolf" is just someone that causes troubles in the cult, but i'm not convince of that... That poster showned last year... I don't know but i like to think that the MW is Ellie's mom, i mean, why they don't want to tell us her name? It is someone we know already? I could be totally wrong and maybe Naughty Dog is trying to mislead us again. Tell me... do you think she will be a playable character? I think that we will be able to play with her... a cinematic with no signs of Joel or Ellie, giving all the attention to her and the cinematic ends before fighting some clickers it seems like we are going to kill those clickers.

Hunters is a catch-all term for highwaymen/raiders. By the way, those guys in the Pittsburg QZ? They have an actual faction name that is shown in other material. The Pittsburg Stealers.

Werent the hunters in Pittsburgh apart of David's crew? He says so as much when he tells Ellie "A few weeks back I sent a group of men out nearby town to look for food. Only a few came back, they said that the others had been slaughtered by a by a crazy man...A crazy man traveling with a little girl." Or was he talking about the men who Joel killed at the university? I just assumed that when the hunters in Pittsburgh say "have you talked to the boss?" they were talking about David. And after Joel came by David's camp and wiped them out, and Ellie killing their Leader David they disbanded.

It is suggested in tlou that the hunters in Pittsburgh are very numerous, even that they are "many enough to spread out", moreover, we hear that they have camps, so probably a certain number. To be able to cover the entirety of a city of this size must require a hell of a lot of people, especially if in addition, they have camps in the surrounding suburban towns (like the ones you come across when leaving the sewers). In hard mode, we kill a total of 139 hunters which may seem like a lot but in my opinion there are many more than that.They will struggle to recover from all their losses, but I think they will survive (on the contrary of the Rattlers in tlou2, I hope). Moreover Bill in one of his notes says he had the visit of hunters and suggests placing more warning messages to keep the curious away. Being 230 miles (from memory) from Pitt, it's bound to be other people. Now that tlou2 is out, we know a little more. No hunters in game other than a journal entry of Ellie at Dixie National Park (something like that) on her trip to California. Otherwise, yes, we were all wrong about the tlou2 scenario. All of us x) ! Jackson is fine, the Seraphites are just people you meet. Personally, I really liked this game, no matter what people say. :)

Now that I think about it Joel being seriously injured and near brink of death but treated in Jackson that would still solicit a strong emotional response for the player and set Ellie for revenge, the death wasn’t needed
