It's a sculpture on wheels. I'd certainly be happy with one. As much as I'd like the V8 sound, I'd also enjoy the efficiency of the hybrid. The reason I'd probably choose the V8 is more about longevity, than it is performance. The AMG GT is my favorite car (not counting a grail like a Singer Porsche), but I'd honestly probably choose the LC500 over one if it came to an actual choice for actual money.

I think this car is sort of cool actually. Toyota/Lexus speaks well to "actual" rich people who like nice things but understand long term ownership costs, and don't overspend in the name of flash - I could see there being people who buy (outright) this car with the intention of long term ownership. For that person, the upfront expense of a $100k sports car might be a lot more palatable than what every other sports car requires, which is high maintenance costs, low MPG's, lack of reliability, etc. This is the closest thing to saying, "I'm ok with spending $100k on something nice, but then I want it to run reliably like a Camry for the next 10 years". And actually, that's pretty compelling. It's almost like a sports car Land Cruiser (historically, the $100k stealth wealth Land Cruiser - not the latest generation) - and for that person, this is the perfect sports car. And still not slow.

I think he did adress the GT car aspect though. A GT should be a joyful driving experience and have room for enough luggage for a cross country road trip. Additionally; and especially for the price point, its tech has aged and it's lacking some features that could reasonably be expected in this class of car. He echoed criticisms that are common for even the ICE only LC500 but redeemed by its styling and NA V8. It isn't surprising that taking the same old LC minus the 500 would be a poor value proposition for most people.

It turns heads and was still a great ride. I got it around the time of the black panther release. Being a black man in the car, there was a surprising amount of black people who would do the wakanda forever arm cross when they saw me in it. It was a cool time. I’d get it again especially for how low the used ones are transacting for, but that V8 surprisingly seems to have a decent amount of LFA dna

I could not imagine spending $100K+ for this vehicle. So many great vehicles in this price point that are 1. More exciting 2. More comfortable 3. More powerful 4. More luxurious 5. Better looking 6. Better sounding 7. Better shifting 8. Better designed Miles states, "The shifting of this car is soulless," but I feel like you could apply soulless to most of this vehicle. Can someone explain the appeal of this vehicle? I just want to understand who this car is for.

I hope Lexus makes more performance Hybrids like this, even if the V8 is superior. My one gripe with the car is that they shouldn't have bothered with the rear seats. Just give us the extra trunk space. I hear most people use the back seat as storage anyway

Respectfully, MB has set a high standard for this channel which contrasts with the level of practice and preparation for this video, specifically the target buyer of this vehicle. The alignment between review priorities and buyer priorities can be improved if a person from said buyer group was consulted prior to recording.

In every LC 500 review they always dog on the trunk space (*seemingly to parrot other reviews they’ve watched) but you have all the room in the faux back seats to put your bags when going on a road trip. No one expects to fit a family of 4 and all their stuff in a 2 door coupe grab tourer

I’m a fan of Lexus, but I think they’ve lost motivation to make real cars for enthusiasts. The biggest reason is enthusiasts are cheap and will never buy a car new, so it doesn’t translate to sales for the company. They’d rather cater to old people who actually put money where their mouth is.

I steer clear from Lexus as long as they keep using CVT's in cars that are supposed to be engaging to drive. I also find the cost-cutting unacceptable on things like a powerlifted gate or low-res instrument cluster, even though they are the ones already saving costs for being able to share so many parts with Toyota. In this segment, a BMW 850i is where it's at for me.

Just take the v8 then. Some people don’t really care about the fun shifting sound. Btw Toyota’s/Lexus v6 hybrides are there since 2006 or so. I also like the sportiness and feel of v8’s with a manual transmission or shifters but Toyota is also making elite cars for people that don’t want to have headaches while driving. (75+ years old drivers)😅

There are so many disingenuous comments on these videos. He compared it to a base 911 and an M850i. They are both tourers. Also , yes, the V8 is better but this channel mostly focuses on electrified vehicles, so it is in line to review the hybrid version. There’s 100s of other reviews of the V8, go watch that if you don’t care about this one. Also, it’s a legit knock that the 100k plus car doesn’t have wireless charging. Why wouldn’t old people not care about convenience.
