Hey Hoocho, I designed and 3d printed a tower system similar to this and grew 40 cabbages in it this season, I think I mentioned it when I sent you the seed tray files it was very successful. It’s 2m tall and survived several storms here in the uk, I would recommend a res of 100L or more or digging the res into the ground also having two stainless rods in the tower running from top to bottom to bolt it all together helps a lot. The tower looks great dude, I like the res catchment in the sections too very well though out and some great results all things considered.

10:05 A little outdoor heat shrink tubing would work wonders for that connection. Just pop it on, hit it with a lighter or torch and it will seal up the connection and water proof it. The tubing has an adhesive inside that melts around the wire and completely seals it.

if the water evaporates out of those little basins (or via transpiration from the plant leaves), and then gets replenished by the large reservoir, wouldn't the nutrient levels eventually start to become more and more concentrated in those basins until it kills the plants?

I was about to post saying I think the wind might be a problem out in the open like that. I was thinking more that the plants would catch the wind and get blown out of the system, I didn't really think about the entire tower going over! Be careful standing out in storms like that. I took cover in an electrical storm while walking the dog because he is scared of storms. Luckily I did because lightning struck once close by then the next bolt struck the lightning rod on the gazebo we had just taken cover under. Pink and purple lightning that day, I felt time slow down it was so powerful.

its the same in the uk, we have 110mm or160mm round or 68mm square as standard ground pipe or gutter pipe, you can get 100mm square which is used to clad over decking posts but there not cheap. Honestly it’s a hard balance to maintain. 3D prints (and the time it takes to design them. Hydroland Products Other Companies Products DIY Builds Educational Vids The idea of the Hydroland products is to get them to the consumer cheaper than the competition and than the cost they can reasonably DIY the system. The educational videos are high on my priorities but I’m stretched quite thin across both channels and life itself. All feedback welcome though and I appreciate the sentiment.

This tower system gives me a lot of hope. Unfortunately when I click on your US storefront it's not there! Here's a strange but entertaining thought: a simplified model of these could be slip cast in porcelain the way toilets are made, thus reducing the amount of plastic in the system, and increasing weight, which would be good in your case. No idea if that's more sustainable than blown/molded plastic. But I really like a modular system more than single side ones that are on the market. Apparently the US is trying to reduce imports so it would mean a lot to me if you would make sure this would be available in your US storefront. The political change hasn't even happened and I can't find fresh coriander (cilantro) where I live. So I guess I need to up my hydroponic game
