Roger's awesome. Don't you feel 1,000,000 times better that the Maidiacs showed you BAND-MAID?
@BRO-HI8086 ай бұрын
BTW...since you are doing more Band-Maid. You may hear some recurring things said...a little info to help decode why/what is left in comments: For Maid theme: Miku, the band founder, used to work in a Japan Maid Cafe to make ends meet until she made her dreams come true. Her vision, create "the gap", a juxtaposition between cute Maids and hard rocking Music. "Masters and Princesses" - this is what the Maids call their fans. "Okyu-ji" - Translates to "Servings", which is what they call their live concerts. "Omajinai Time" - Translate to "Magic Spell Time", during this time a spell is cast at by Maids and their Masters and Princess at Maid Cafes "Maid Armor" or "Maid Battle Armor" - the Maid outfits they wear. Although they started with same/similar outfits, they have evolved over time to fit the personalities of each Maid. Other FYI: Kobato is the family name of Miku, the second lead vocal, backing vocal, rhythm guitar, main lyricist and band founder. Her Kanji translate to "small pigeon". "Hato" which is what translate to pigeon/dove, can also be conceived as 8-10. So she has taken on the persona of a 810 yr old small pigeon. Thus Miku often ends most of her sentences with "PO!" "PO!" - Onomatopoeia associated to the sound a pigeon makes in Japan is "Kuruppo" or "Poppo". "PO!" being the shortened version.

They do own and use multiple guitars. There has been an evolution of gear over the years but even in a single show they will switch instruments for different tunings and such, especially in a long concert like Yokohama Arena where a number of different guitars were used. They mostly stick with one “main” guitar in a show so often you can tell what concert it is by what combinations you see onstage. BTW - Kanami has a new Custom Private Stock PRS she has been teasing that we are all waiting with baited breath to hear her play. A very exclusive (and expensive) new toy for her which she richly deserves.

They do change up their guitars in long concerts. However, Kanami always (unless it's acoustic) plays PRS, and Miku always plays Zemaitis.
@greylocke1006 ай бұрын
And MISA ALWAYS plays Black Cloud. And Kanami's acoustic is a Yairi
@greylocke1006 ай бұрын
During this particular concert Kanami the lead guitarist, used 4 different guitars, Miku the rhythm guitarist used 3 different guitars, and MISA the bassist used 3 different basses. They will switch out for different tunings depending on the song. When the are on tour, they normally will only have 3 guitars, a main, a back up and an acoustic. However for large shows in Japan, they will break out all the stops, and to make it easier, they will add in their other guitars. From my understanding, Kanami has a stable of I think 23 guitars and several basses, pianos and keyboards and 2 drumsets Miku has 18 guitars and a piano, MISA has 12 or 13 basses, PLUS 4-5 guitars, a piano, a keyboard and an electronic drumset in addition to her Alto Horn and Trumpet, and Saiki the lead singer has several guitars and 2 pianos. Akane has multiple drum kits, acoustic and electronic, 2 pianos, and keyboards, and her Trombone. These figures may not be accurate, as I have read multiple sources and they don't always agree. There are several rumors than after their Band-Maiko project, Kanami, MISA and Akane started experimenting with traditional Japanese instruments. Whether they own any or not, I do not know.
@DaElfer6 ай бұрын
the "blacked out guitar" i can only think is MISA's black smoker 5 string bass. I believe this concert she was playing on her custom signature bass. Miku plays on her signature model metal front guitar by Zemaitis and kanami plays on a red PRG guitar. she has a dark purple and green one she has played on in past videos as well. All of them have multiple instruments but usually during a concert i dont see them switch too many times

Great reaction. These ladies don't do things half-a$$ed. The lead guitarist, Kanami, writes these crazy songs and makes her parts the hardest. For the question about guitars, MISA, the bassist, has a number of different bass guitars that she uses, the other two gartists, Mikku (second vocals, red rose) has a couple of different guitars that she sometimes uses, but generally she uses the same one for each performance. The lead guitarist, Kanami, has a couple of guitars that shes uses depending on the song. Thanks for continuing to react to Band-Maid.

From what I understand bass strings are thick so doing magical things with it is more difficult. You don't see many bassists that really stand out (Chris Squire, Geddy Lee, Jaco, Bootsie) there are a few but when they shine they shine. With that being said, there is a ehole world of genres out there to explore and these ladies mix genres a lot. Get you feet wet!

MISA uses several Black Cloud basses oft times during a concert. She even has a signature bass from Black Cloud that has a jazz lower tone (in my opinion). Thank you for reacting to my favorite band, sir.

The spin that Miku does at the end is the only proper way to end a song of this magnitude. (lol) Kanami started out with Addictone guitars before switching to PRS. I believe she uses an Alvarez Yairi on acoustic songs. Miku started out with a Rickenbacker guitar for the Thrill music video but had no clue how to play it at the time. Kanami taught her how to play and asked her to get a guitar that fit better with their sound. Miku eventually started using Zemaitis guitars exclusively and even has her own signature model now called "Flappy Pigeon". Misa has her bass guitars made by Black Cloud. For some reason Black Cloud calls all of their bass guitars Black Smoker no matter what color they are.

I hope you introduced the Maids to your father and his friends. This ladies kick 🍑!!! Loved your comment on the Maids being Artists. They are true genius. As another reactor said..."Honoring the past, but not stuck in the past." PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘 One of the bonuses of attending their live Okyu-ji's. They thanks their Masters and Princesses for share their time with them by giving them a little extra. Not only the energy, which is insane, but with extended/added intros and solos. As for switching guitars, yes, they do. But they stay with their sponsored brands. Kanami, Lead Guitar sticks with PRS, and 2 Okyu-ji's ago, showed off her brand new Private Stock PRS. MISA, the bassist uses basses from a smaller Japanese lute maker called Black Cloud and although my favorite the Black Black Smoker is not used as often as it used to be. If I understand the sites correctly, they are all custom basses made MISA, but there is a official signature model which she's playing in this song and is being sold by Black Cloud. Miku, second lead vocal, backing vocals, rhythm guitarist, main lyricist, and band founder, plays Zemaitis Guitars. In this show she's playing here signature "Flappy Pigeon". So also showed/played a new signature guitar by Zemaitis in this show too. No word yet if they are going to do a limited edition run like they for the FP, or it could be like Kanami and MISA's custom builds...just one of kinds.

This is song #27 of a 33 song concert held in front of 18,000 people. MISA has several bass guitars and KANAMI has several PRS Custom 24 guitars. MIKU has a signature Zemaitas guitar that I am sure she has more than one of them. AKANE has several TAMA drum kits as well. When you watch the videos know that they change the colors of the guitars/bass/drums but they are set up similarly. AMPS and PEDALS are the same as well. In BAND MAIDs older videos THRILL for example they do not have the equipment that they are rocking now. BAND MAID literally started on a shoestring budget. Once they started getting their own recognition they were able to choose better equipment. KANAMI chose PRS Custom 24 because of the quality and weight of the guitar and she is a huge fan of Carlos Santana who also plays PRS guitars.

They performed 33 songs at this concert. Guitars go out of tune. Plus are set up to specific tuning to match specific songs. So they do swap out guitars (and basses) during a show to save time. Especially long shows like this.
