It's very well put in the bare minimum words. I have a sibling who is a paediatric super specialist in critical care. He used to talk about it quite frankly in his academic phase. The issues are as grave as they sound in this talk here in India as well

When I was in undergrad and we were all competing for graduate school placements, I felt so disconnected from my classmates. Some of them would literally tell people the wrong answers so they could make sure they beat them on exams, and I didn't trust any of them. And professors didn't help either; they told us that anyone who had a job while they were in school weren't going to get into grad school because we wouldn't have a high enough GPA and it was our own fault. Basically, if you weren't privileged enough to be able to only focus on school, you didn't deserve to further your education. I hated it.
