While polygamy is not for everyone I think if the wives are being treated fairly and are adults then who am I to criticize. I will say Brady hits upon one thing: This is not a cheap way to live. Raising a flock of kids and supporting 4 wives takes quite a bit of money to make it work.

Sorry polygamy is hard? He is still a polygamist & that is illegal. Stop pretending any one man & several wives (5) is a normal situation. The ones who pay the price are the kids. These adults decided to live polygamy but the kids are the victims of polygamy. The kids have no say. And one of the main goals of Polygamy is for multiple wives to have lots of kids. In 2024 having 19 - 20 kids costs lots to house, feed, cloth, educate, provide sports, or dancing, gymnastics & other interests outside of being a number for a man for his faith. And, the Mothers get government benefits by pretending they are single moms, which is illegal as well. Why do tax payers have to pay for illegally gotten benefits??? If several women want only one husband & do not have kids, fine because they will only suffer as adults without punishing a van full of kids.

@@g.flesch9731@g.flesch9731 I am Brady and Rosemary's youngest. I love that you want to bring the other side of this discussion to the table, but I'll also let you know that me and each of my siblings are so so happy and grateful for our parents and the amazing job they did to raise us. I don't recommend polygamy as a lifestyle just because it's unrealistic for any normal person to think they can handle more than one wife. But extraordinary people do exist and my dad is definitely a man who will do anything to be an amazing husband and father and my siblings did not "pay the price".

The fact that Brady says why would you marry if not in Love, speaks Volumes about him. He is an honest and caring human, you can see it in his wives and children which is so refreshing. I remember Maddie Brown and maybe even McKelt, wanted to be in LDS and they were told that they insisted each of them were required to publicly denounce polygamy, the AuB and, officially, denounce their parents. Their daughters refused to denounce their parents and that seems so countrary to the mission of any church. North Korea punishes three generations of family for deeds of grandparents and grandkids. If kids will be charged for parental errors, then why baptize the babies. Being accepted or rejected from any legit religious group should not be weaponized against enemies of said church.

I'm glad that it's working well but I tilted my head when he described how he fell in love with each one...that of course he wanted to spend the rest of his live dedicated to them. How is it dedication if it's split between others
@rinanicole2174Күн бұрын
If you have more than one friend, are you splitting your dedication to one friend by having another friend? We all juggle many relationships and dedications. We are all dedicated to more than one thing and one person. We dedicate ourselves to careers, hobbies, friends, family, romantic relationships, religion, spirituality… Just because I’m dedicated to my career doesn’t mean I’m less dedicated to my husband. Just because my husband is dedicated to me doesn’t mean he is less dedicated to others or that I want him to be. It is simply different dynamics. Or just because I’m dedicated to my middle sister doesn’t mean I’m less dedicated to my baby sister. Dedication is simply being purposeful about something or someone. Choosing to care and invest in something or someone.

I said Jesus said he will heal him and no DNR! Sorry Jesus said No! He looked at me like I grew horns and stomped away. Six to eight months later. On a Friday the doctor said it will likely take many years of speech therapy before he speaks well again! Ok can’t argue. It’s all groans and a lot of frustration. I come back Monday morning with his mother and he looks at me and puts his finger over the vent hole and speaks flawless English! He says I’m playing their game they never come in here! WOW! When the doctors came in and he talked to them they lost all color and just whispered this is not even possible! Miracle after miracle and my husband is good now! There’s always hope! It is remarkable to watch this video after your video about the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives and observe how less judgmental you are of someone living polygamy than you are of women who drink alcohol and swear. It really makes the point of the Hulu show, that there is a Mormon culture that Mormons and ex-Mormons are all part of in Utah and surrounding states, because you still hold on to the Mormon value that swearing and moderate alcohol consumption are somehow worse than extreme religious practices that devalue women.
@monicamacneille33723 күн бұрын
Even youtubers are human beings! Sam and Melissa are doing their best, and I'm sure they're learning new things all the time. Some of their reactions to other groups made me cringe a bit (their misunderstanding of the use of hallucinogens in traditions all over the world for example), but I guess I"d recommend showing them some grace. They are just people, and they seem like pretty awesome people, full of Love and Kindness and trying to find their way in the world like the rest of us.
@sherryg18383 күн бұрын
I didn’t get that impression at all. I think they were surprised that the women would swear and drink, yet still remain Mormon. They didn’t understand why they would be Mormon, yet not follow Mormon rules. Melissa even said she didn’t mean to be judgy, but it was hard to listen to because of her upbringing. As for Brady, he has left religion and is not a practicing Mormon or LDS fundamentalist. Sam and Melissa have always said they are not fans of polygamy. Also, how they respond to viewing a show is different to how they respond to the actual person. I believe they did have some criticisms of the actual show. However, they are kind people and aren’t going to be confrontational when they are talking to the person directly.
@allyjmjm3 күн бұрын
@@monicamacneille3372 Yes, they are human but they can become more self aware (e.g., with knowledge of other religions and cultures, with reflection about how many of the things taught in the LDS church are far more harmful than swearing and moderate alcohol consumption). My comment was pointing out that they are usually very forgiving and sympathetic toward people who do and believe in harmful things, so it was surprising that they seemed incensed about swearing even as they reminded themselves to try not to be judgmental. The behavior of a couple active LDS men on the show should be more worthy of judgment than the alcohol use and swearing.
