I remember it well. I was on the last few days of my 9 day Switzerland/Spain trip when it erupted (and mind you, I was a solo female traveler). My 9 day trip turned out being a month😆 But I made the best of it. Switzerland locals were kind enough to put me up for the extended stay and take me sightseeing. Pretty much all hotels were booked. Met SO many nice people❤️
