It's GameStop Canada that is promoting it. It's exclusive to them in Canada for a year (which is actually up I believe before the end of 2024) GameStop USA doesn't sell it.

I want to like the Iconic Arcade more than I do, there just doesn't seem to be an awful lot of information about it and ones who have put videos up say you are very much left to your own devices for the most part. What do you guys think of this new(ish) entry into the Home Arcade space?

Really? have you seen the Iconic Arcade YT Channel? There have a few tutorials regarding adding games, Batocera, how to build up the Machine, Wifi configs etc.

No not yet, Smyths should be getting them in later this month. Hopefully one of the local stores will put one up in store for display as I’m sure there will be a few questions around it

Wow you think £400 is a good deal? I just bought it in my local store in Canada fore $250 cdn or £140... definitely thinking of swapping out the raspberry pi 4 for a 5

For us in the UK that's what we usually get them for, the only cabinets here for less that £400 would be the first Legacy cabs. We get totally shafted when it comes to the prices

Honestly it’s hard to know. I’d need to pick one up and play with it to see what it’s like and if it’s any better than just building your own

@@CHQArcade I also have one machine. Its definetly not perfect on every regard. But it is a very good and cheap multicade solution. If you dont want to build your own, and invest a lot of time in, it is really better to buy one Iconic Arcade Device. There is also a Smyth Toys offer of 399$. So its a really good deal.

In all honesty right now there is a good deal out there on Smyth Toys for 399$. I think its a very good offer and adding your own games + and playing them with a Keyboard mouse, controller or with the Iconic Arcade Joysticks is very easy. Plus you can add nearly all the games you want with WinSCP (Wifi) There is also a Tutorial on that on the Iconic Arcade KZbin Page.

It's truly awful even if you're a starter. Take the 400 and build a far superior one

I disagree. I have one at home and it is great. Of course it is not perfect, but it is a Multicade. Plus i really dont have the time, nor the patience to build one myself. Therefore buying one for 399 is actually a good deal.

@@JohnBoyle-y9t Well im just telling you how it is. The machine is good especially for 399$ But if you want to build your own one, invest probably more money and time, you can create your own machine. For me, i dont have the time, so i bought the machine, and i am satisfied with it.

Got it on sale for $299.99 CAD. Love it at that price point - I'll be dropping in a 20" Dell and a Lenovo M70q. The Pi will be repurposed for another project.
