The Iconic Battle of Two Low Tier Heroes

Abegen and DapVip are iconic low tier heroes, using some of the worst characters in the game to battle it out. They are true character specialists and have incredible setups and wild combos. Today they battle it out at Final Round.
Thanks to Professor_Lex (twitch.tv/professorlex) for pointing out how x23's level 3 works. --- "Once X23 activates her level 3, her S and j.S buttons are replaced with a new move that is an unblock level hit-grab, not a normal command grab. Since it is a hit-grab instead of a command grab, it can be used against someone in blockstun."

A little note at 4:04, while Iron Man's beam has the benefits such as coming out a frame earlier, keeping the opponent standing, it's not necessarily better than Doctor Doom's plasma beam assist. When Doctor Doom is called, he is called behind the player. This makes it extremely hard to punish him, giving him a lot of defensive capability. When Iron Man is called, he is called directly on top the player, leading to more potential happy birthdays or punishes from the opponent. Great video, your content is awesome.

It IS better. Actually comes out 1 frame slower but it active 5 frames longer than doom beam. The fact it comes out behind is a bonus but you should not be calling your assist with your opponent that close. Its honestly not common at all for the assist to stop happy birthdays, if you made a bad call more often than not doom is getting hit too

​@@SkyHighClaw Ah, got my beams reversed with frames. It's still not necessarily better imo. I still think being called behind the player makes it more even than anything. In cases of a bad call and the opponent is doing like cr.L M, if Iron Man's on top of you he's gonna get hit too, but if Doom's behind the player he can interrupt because he's not hit yet. Of course it's hard to talk about Marvel in theory because there's a lot of situations, but I understand most people's argument when it comes to that. It also just depends if your character prefers having Unibeam over Plasma.

@@Zaimilk000 That's the thing, don't make a bad call. A bad call can cost you an entire match That's a fundamental thing to know. The fact it keeps you standing lets you setup just the silliest mixups with certain characters. With Magneto I can make you guess high low back or forward or grab. Even if you got hit by the 1st or 2nd layer The reason why I know is because I use doom beam, and use Repulsor blast so I dont get a chance to use unibeam. If Doom had repulsor blast Id use unibeam so fast it'd make your head spin

@@noobtuber10 umvc3 would garner some attention, but would easily die down again because it's past its prime. A new game that's better would indeed surpass umvc3. Isn't it the same with umvc3 licensing? A new game would make more money for whoever owns the marvel characters, and an old game doesn't justify the licensing fees. Simply put the game would not sell well regardless of what you think. It's an old game it's not worth it for them.

just a note for 3:35 -- characters can't be grabbed while blocking. x-23's level 3 is just straight up an unblockable and not necessarily a grab. x-23's level 3 "hits" even when the opponent is blocking which is what dapvip takes advantage of with dante's assist. whether the opponent gets hit by the assist or blocks it x-23 can land her level 3. it's a great setup that's only set back by meter and assist timing on incoming and requires that dapvip (or anyone that plays this team) to have a solid neutral game with characters that are easily outpaced against top tier characters. man i've spent several hours playing/watching this game back then. fun times.

Dap Vip is my inspiration for x23 and I only got as good as am with her from watching his clips. He's amazing Abegan is also one of my favorites because his team is so creative, cool looking, and has ALL the synergy of a zero-may-cry. The combo optimization and one touch kills on every character is fantastic.

I can look into making a quick one. It's actually not too bad though! If you download it and put it in your game folder it should load up and you can press F1. Then press every checkmark that pops up and you can use the keybinds (defaults to numpad I believe) to move the camera

So I'm one of the only point Iron Man players that I know of and I've actually sent Abegan to losers in a Major. Dude is relentless. We played a money match later and he got me 5-4 but he complimented my Iron Man, which was nice because he had played with Condor. This was roughly around his meteoric rise in the scene. Modok & Rocket Raccoon are nowhere near low tier but otherwise good video. DapVip is one of my favorite. This video: "BlackEye UMVC3 #24 vs udaterasu" shows a team of Ryu, Ironman & Thor and #24 uses them really good. He is also another good Japanese player.
