Great price but there is of course the value of your time and expertise. As I own an ID.3 1st Edition this has been really beneficial for me to learn about how my car is put together. It will help me doing my own repairs and maintenance though I have absolutely no plans to touch any of the high voltage stuff. Thanks for your time and effort. Roll on the next project. 👍

I agree. Great job Paul, excellent wok, however, in order to get the actual cost of the restoration he has to include a cost for his time.

Great work Paul but why not have the painter blend the new paint into the rear panel and the rear door so the mismatch in colour is hidden. I have just had the same panel done that way and you can't tell it has been painted.

I'd have base coated the light panel too.

Rear where you pointed out the damage you covered up and the shade variation on rear quarter wouuld not be good enough wish you would do it properly like salvage rebuilds uk chris and rob would not let that be finished like that

Great work Paul it looks great & definitely a good bargain, I've loved watching this restoration from the start & at first thought you're barking mad 😀 wanting to take on all the computer challenges that come with electric cars. You must have learned a heap getting all the modules to talk to one another, It's been nail biting at times with the problems that arose but you got them sorted. Kudos Sir. When you doing another BEV? 😄

Great job Paul but i would have had a spray can mixed to the same colour and painted all the black area also you should have blended the back door then you would not notice the difference in shade. when you come to sell this eventually people will try to reduce the price a lot for something that cost very little. other a good job.

Great work, like you say saving £7000 on a similar vehicle, plus saving on the running costs compared to the S3, its a win win, your missus will love it.

Very pleasing conclusion to a long and complicated haul there Paul. Great insight into the internals and workings of an ID3. So many parts involved but not visible when the car is assembled. I think you've done really well to overcome all the problems that working on the car brought up. 👍

Nice work, enjoyed the series. Would have preferred you to break down the cost of individual parts (curiosity to see how much they were). I'd be interested on your view of how much a cat s/n repaired vehicle reduces the sale price compared to an undamanged car?

Great content! However you did ask re price to complete.... I have been dealing with EV's for years and I purchased a ID 3 Pro Performance Spec- 2021 21 with 80k miles for £13,000... Yep the miles are high but a 1 owner car that's ready to retail and HPi clear! Your content and work effort is 100% but.... Sadly the ID3's are making way lower than book value at all car auctions so is it really worth buying a damaged one and putting all your effort in? Keep the great work up!

@termit52011 ай бұрын
All right, all good, nice job But you forgot to add your work hours, how many hours? What's the price of that? If you include it, a final price would be bad enough to scrap the vehicle.....if you add it, I dont think that calculation would be so pleasant. Like anyway

@alancampbell100811 ай бұрын
Comparing the value of a car with no crash history to one with is unrealistic. You never answered my question from the last video about the category because with that damage i would assume it was cat s? Even though the car is younger than 3 years old does it not need an MOT before it goes on the road? Cos in the last viseo it certainly wasn't taxed when you were driving it on the road.

@joebloggs419111 ай бұрын
Is it just me or does the rear bumper look a little misalgined to the rear three quarter panel? that together with the mismatched paint would drive my OCD nuts 🤣Regarding the savings, I think you have to calculate this against another ID3 of the same type that has a cat marker and then see the difference, no point comparing it to a 'proper' car since you will never get that for yours. Still probably cheap though.

The cheapest I could find for my model id3 was £18k plus mind is highly specked with £3.5k of extras, leaving that aside, that’s still a £4k saving for a car I do not plan to sell
@RB-lt8kt8 ай бұрын
Yes but yours has been crashed so worth 20% less and how many hours have you spent fixing and sourcing parts which has a cost. If the car is for you to keep price doesn't matter or Porsche wouldn't be able to sell Taycan's who's prices are falling £2k a month. @@CarsForPaul
