I found this whoke video interestinf and welk done. It gave me a flashback to when i had my car into a body shop after i hit a deer and i got it back with my driving camera all taped up with cardboard and tape. I wonder if those guys were using my car to drive aroubd? Anyway i like your style , so pkease do m9re. I did subscribe

It’s all a scam. Vw cam belt change was 4/5 years/40k miles (not the manufacturer which does not have a change interval and considers cam belt lifetime (although I would have changed at 80-100 thousand miles as more likely the tensioner fail rather than the belt). I got quoted around £1200 by some dealers justifying as the high voltage need draining although no high voltage need disconnecting. Some other dealers quoted the normal £750-800 stating that no different to other 1.4 Tsi engines. I had the work done and the electric range remained the same so HV not drained. It’s all a collusion between the dealers and VW Uk who are the importers and not the manufacturer. There is no longer any recommendations for cam belt change (maybe over 100000k) as of July 2023. So you are correct, all scare tactics. I had the cambelt changed as I believed that recommendation was from Vw and I have extended warranty.

Hi Paul, I've only just looked at your series on the ID3. Very well done on getting there and delving in to EV repair. Ive just bought a damaged ID5 that will need the HV battery reinitiated with odis online. Who would you recommend to do this remotely and do you need a VAS6154 dongle for them to connect? Thanks again for an informative video series, P.

@CarsForPaul What is supporting the cage together with the radio and the weight from not falling down towards the back when you have it on the table? That facia alone doesn’t have a support to hold towards the back, except the framing around the front…Weird and I cannot tell what I need to make it a clean holding in place, aligned, without shifting down towards the back cause the weight. Any advise?

being quite late watching your content I wanna comment at least once that your channel is really great covering all the different aspects from ice to hybrid to EV without the usual fooling and myth . You just keep on working hard and achieve things step by step. I have watched the gte challenges first and then somehow went along that tesla journey to get the super charging and what now fixed again and I love the mix from VW and Audi going on to whatever car you might like or find usefull ignoring all the brands reputation and disputes or theater. Really great but underrated content - best wishes from Germany , lower saxony, the home of VW.

16:53 - that is a deadly mistake to exchange the chip. If doing so your insurance will not have to pay and this means you will have to pay anything. Your car is no longer street legal and this means you are screwed and have to pay for everything - at least in the EU. More horsepower is fine but you need to adjust the insurance to keep up with the higher risks which come along with the higher horsepower and its usage. Statistics by Allianz Reinsurance have proofed that years ago. And here you will face criminal charges too if you are involved in a car accident cause in the EU the police can confiscate the car to check if it has been tuned, modified, changed compare to the factory delivery. You have the reponsibility and the prosecutor willl attack you not for having caused the accident but violating innocent who had been involved. The fines are pretty high like 12 month net income or prison if you had already trouble before that incident.

Coparts fees have really gone up (double in 5 years) and they have changed the information nowadays. The show a suffix X,C or whatever on the lot number but don't show the sellers info. When asked they are pretty vague about who is selling the cars.. This is Nov 24 btw! Great video though Paul.

Hey Paul I have a mk4 golf the fan turn on for a second and then turn back off I’ve changed the fan relay and the fan switch and I’m still experiencing the same problem

I know you are an Audi man, but the Cayman has more resale value. If you can turn the cayman into a GT4 and upgrade the performance then that would be engaging. The Audi has more tuning options though. The thing is what ever you choose just do something out of the box with it.
