I found the book sooo sad. There was no joy just fear and grief and shame. I was absolutely not comfy with the age gap. I'm in my 40s and anyone under 25 is a baby to me. I can't imagine being attracted to someone half my age.

Thanks for the shout out! I stopped reading at the halfway point, it was so boring lol. It should have been much shorter.

Didn't read the book. However, I wonder.... why show texts which are pretty much impossible to read on the screen, and why, why, did momma text Daddy asking to speak to child, when child has her own cell phone?

Let's not talk about my acne patches peeling off my face! Lets talk about The Idea of You!

Thank you for the review and recap. I didn't read the book and have no interest in the movie. It just didn't grab my attention. I am seeing Hozier for the 2nd time on the 25th. Our age gap is about the same and if he wanted to pluck me out of the audience I'd be down with that😉💖

I just watched the movie and loved it. I'm trying to decide if I want to read the book and I feel like the answer is "no" even though romance is my favorite genre and I love me some 🌶. I do like a happy ever after which the book is not.

Read the book up until he texts her that his at the door. Then throw the book in the trash and watch the ending of the movie. The ending on the book is crap and heartbreaking. I wish it had ended like the movie.
