hi there, nice video for the first time anyway , does the top housing standoff comes with metal standoff ? if they just directly screw in would makes the plastic loose overtime

I was always eyeing this board ever since the prototypes showed up on KZbin. My biggest concern was that despite being gasket mounted, the USB cutout was a strict hard point which would affect the flex (or lack there of). So the Crystal ends up only having one of the 2 benefits that gasket mounting provides: the sound dampening from the gaskets. That, coupled with the fact that the GMMK Pro and Keychron Q1 are much cheaper makes the Crystal a hard sell. Shame too, because the black polycarbonate version looks clean. Thanks for the coverage by the by, the review was great.

Yeah. The usb point is hard anchor of the PCB, making the gaskets pretty pointless. My honest opinion is get the Q1. I have already ordered it.

For anyone wondering, his units are off for the right shift and mods to the right of the spacebar. Right shift is 1.75u (not 2u as he states) and the two modifiers to the right of the spacebar are 1.5u (not 1.75u as he states).

Which woild you say is better? Gmmk pro or the id80 crystal?

One major complaint about the GMMK pro is the gasket mounting being so compressed that there is virtually no more flex to be had while typing. The ID80 crystal's gaskets are very very slightly better, allowing for very very little (but still there) amount of flexing. So, imo, it's very very slightly better in that department. Sound wise (a very subjective matter) I feel that the ID80 is way too muted, you barely hear anything at all, even after PE foam modding it. Where as the GMMK pro sounds great with the PE foam mod. So In my books the GMMK pro wins here. The GMMK pro has a rotary encoder. So you can make your own opinion here. Haha

u cant rlly say that. The gmmk pro and the id80 v2 boards give off different sound profiles. all up to preference.

@@BreakingBald0 how long have u had it? I hear the PCB had some issues where the LEDs and some of the key inputs go bust after a few week. But yeah, the new transparent crystal version on the last July run comes w silicone gaskets. Heard it's much better than the foam ones tho

@@kerwinwinrox Hopefully, I feel that the board sounds pretty lacklustre IMO. Hopefully the silicone gaskets sound less muted. I've had this board for a week or 2 but I don't really use it at all for now, my GMMK pro is just so much better all around.
