I’d much rather have a Sense75 or the Rainy 75 or the Zoom 75 or a myriad of other enthusiast boards that are likely better than Keychron. But I’ve been waiting for over a month now for something to come back in stock and nothing has. But I can literally walk into a MicroCenter and take home a Q1 Pro today. Okay, I'm surprised this isn't more widely known. Keychron keyboards HAVE a force break mod installed, and it works great, but if you tighten the screws too much the silicone bumpers get compressed and it gets pingy. Tighten the screws until you feel resistance but don't crank it down to where the top and bottom are in strong contact. I'm tired of people saying that keychron needs a force break, that was a problem with the first Q1 and other early models, but since Q1 v2 they've had silicone force break mod pre-installed.

Fun fact from a typography nerd: the issue with the shift key having a larger gap between the f and the t is known as bad kerning. It is usually a mistake made by amateur font designers so it is often present in free or clone fonts. Kerning is adjusting the space between individual letters that don’t look visually balanced with the default letter spacing metrics. AV, YA, Ta, and RY are a few common letter combinations that often need to be kerned.

I also decided that I really like being able to customize and compile my own tweaks of that firmware, and used that to change the default debouncing method that Keychron had set up for my Q1 Pro. I don't think this thing was great to use out of the box exactly, and that's definitely a turn off for a lot of users I'm sure. However, I've heard some concerning things regarding their shipping and customer service, I can't seem to find a Canadian retailer who carries those models, and I absolutely refuse to buy anything from Amazon. Also my experience with trimode PCBs in other keyboards is that the swotch under the capslock only needs to be switched off of you are putting it into storage. Do you have to care about gasket mounting, tempest modding and foaming if the keyboard is ultimately going to be silent? Real question.

Yeah - all of those things can help reduce reverberations and sound!

I would LOVE to have a keyboard like this! But... mostly just because of the color. It's too expensive for my current budget. I really enjoyed watching the videos on the custom builds with a budget that you did with your friends! I think it would be neat to see another video like that, where you potentially take a cheap keyboard, but make it (at least) look like a high end custom.

The Razer Keychron GLOWUP is so common. People ask "what best keybpard" the go to line is "just get a keychron... q."

Nice. Shame the Lilac version doesn't seem to be sold anymore....

Picked out switches, caps and then an alice Keychron V10. Iz lovely. Just wanted something relatively affordable and Alice layout that looked good. My wrists are thanking me :)

Fair points. Going offtrack. I have no idea if my keyboard is thock, clack, idrk. my spacebar is kinda weird.

I can mod out case ping, but I can’t mod in VIA or VIAL. And Zoom75 wins over both at a slight premium. But we’re already over $200 here so it’s worth it

Hey Hipyo! Saw the GMK67 from Zouya in the video, was wondering if you were ever thinking of grabbing the GMK67-s? I built up a board with Gateron Smoothies and lubed the stock stabs, the board with SA profile PBT caps had a nice thoccy sound, especially the space bar. Must have something to do with the spacebar stabilizer having foam around it (the foam sandwiched inbetween the plate and pcb)

I just got a V1 cuz it was 80 USD and its my first custom keyboard. Im going to get into modding it soon but I need to save again before buying switches and keycaps.

Honestly, I was just excited to find out that someone makes a customizable, aluminum body, full-size keyboard at a not ridiculous price point (Q6). I never assumed it was the best, but I don't know of anyone else that makes a full size this good for less. If I was in the market for different form factor, there are obviously a ton of other options.

i've got the varmilo victory and is really good unfortunately the black color of sword 68 is sold out lol... i'm searching to look other keyboards to use for work with 75% like size i don't like 100% size ..........i looked also the new corsair k65 + and looks nice....but i think that 167€(on Amazon) is a little high for what it offers

You should try the Ak820 pro with the coffin keys. It comes really thocky out the box, it has a nice knob and a small screen for gifs and such. Imho its a good mid-priced keyboard

Hey Hipyo, I'm new to this whole boutique keyboard scene. I just ordered a Niz Mini84 pro v6 with a set of CeraKeys v2. I was wondering if you could make a build with them in a video. Also, do you have recommendations for a better stabilizer that can be used with the mini84 pro v6?
@HipyoTech9 ай бұрын
That's a sick build - with stabs you're screwed on niz

@@HipyoTech I got the Niz Mini84 keyboard and have been using it with the CeraKeys v2 for the past two weeks and it's insane. 10/10 would recommend.

It's barely impossible to find an ISO French Canadian layout mechanical keyboard. So, I made one with a barebone Keychron ISO Q6 Pro. Switches weren't a problem to get of course, but French Canadian keycaps .. That's still a huge challenge. I'm using some made by WASD. It's .. okayish. I'm still trying to find any better.
@CodSlap9 ай бұрын
I’d love to explore more non-Keychron options, but if you want a keeb with a numpad - heck maybe even just a TKL - when you’re part of the ISO gang, it’s kinda’ slim pickings out there.

Yes please I would really appreciate a review or even better a mod guide on the q max series for keycrhons!!!

As a strange thought has Hipyo done any keyboards in the way of ISO layout? (rather than ANSI) - Some of use prefer that layout and it'd be good to see what options there's available to us in other countries.. like those in Europe.
