Various worldwide calls of the game winning goal by Sidney Crosby in the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games gold medal ice hockey final.

Couple of Notes:
If you listen in each clip you'll hear Crosby yelling "Iggy!" for Iginla to feed him the pass, hence the title. I thought everyone knew about that part.
The France TV broadcast included a broadcaster from Quebec, so I'm sure part of the exuberance of the whole crew was from him.
The BBC call after the goal is "It's taken a while for him to come to the party... he can celebrate, Canada can celebrate."
I had to get friends from around the world to capture these sound bytes so it's why a lot of countries are missing. I would have loved to get more of the hockey nations, Russia, Slovakia, Finland etc.

Well, the funny thing about Canadians covering a gold medal hockey game against the states, is that you know exactly who they're cheering for. They do a good job of hiding it but when you get to something like this... good luck. And I dunno, the British probably prefer us to the Americans after 1776 or something.

So proud of French TV We are not a hockey country, and the tournament wasn't broadcasted in its integrality. We only got some periods of some games but never a full game. So getting a full game, the final, for the end of a beautiful Olympic, with a caster from Quebec, was absolutely awesome. And added to this, our Canadian friends are playing USA for one of the best rivalry in the world. We couldn't dream of a better thing for this. So Crossby scoring in OT was awesome and yes, we were all behind Canada this day :)

Every time I listen to this I get major man-pride tears. One of the best moments of my life was watching this with my best friend. Absolutely incredible, many man-hugs took place when he scored. Best fucking country in the world. I love ALL my Canadian brothers and sisters.

jdlpro, One of the French guy actually said "My eyes are tearing up!" (He had a Quebecois accent.) A great idea, plenarius. A sincere thank you from this Canadian hockey fan for posting this!  Crosby's "IGGY!" will go down in history -- this is the first historic hockey moment where you only need to hear the track ("IGGY!") to know what's happening. I hope Sid the Kid watches this -- I bet it will send chills down his spine too. (If you do, thank you once more from Canada, Sidney!)

That entire tourney was perfect. We lost to the US in round robin, giving that feeling that we could lose it and then it goes in to OT. I flew home to Vancouver for the games just on the chance I might get to be there for something that will never happen again. hundreds of thousand of people in the streets, I have a pic of the huge escalator in Granville station with everyone going up high fiving everyone going down. magic. 50 years from now that day will be remembered and I was there.

A winning shot by Crosby! The gold goes to Canada! -The hockey prodigy made it happen! -Yes, the winning shot by Crosby the ace, the final shot of the game. Canada wins! Canada wins in the overtime! Gold medals! (Funny how they almost foresaw the Crosby goal)

He was talking about the France one too. The one announcer that goes crazy on the France broadcast and says he has tears in his eyes is a Canadian, from Quebec obviously. I'm sure anyone from France can tell the accent is quite different.
