I actually disagree with you man. It's toxic how everyone demands everything to be rated a 7 or higher. A 7 is now average when average should be 5 for example. If the point of this season was to flesh out its characters, it really only fleshes out 3, and only for 1 episode each. Nezuko gets completely shafted as well. I see this season as the show at its worst; privileging Tanjiro, the most boring MC in maybe the history of Shonen, while largely ignoring the rest of the cast. This season also fails to answer the questions it brings up itself, like what exactly is the mark and how does it spread. Most egrigously, it builds up this idea of training the entire demon slayer corps, and that Tanjiro would be the catalyst for this growth in others, but they have all the other demon slayers quit and go home by end. Where's the scene where Tanjiro inspires the Demon Slayers to work harder, and they all develop their marks while pushing the boulder? This season was boring and failed to do any of the things it sets out to do, except be a chill little vibe before the finale. Not worth the 8 episodes (including 2 double feature episodes). Opinions like IGN or mine being treated as blasphemous is the most childish pearl clutching I've ever seen. Who cares what other people think. If you like it, shouldnt that be enough?

It's funny how Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen are having completely inverse issues within their fanbases. When Demon Slayer slows down to give more character moment (as well as pad out the time), the fans are screaming at them to get back to the action. And with JJK, the fans want more slow character moments and for the action to take a bit of a backseat.

You know what? For as stupid as IGN is, I kinda agree with their points on Demon Slayer. Not the scoring: a 3 and a 5 are too low.. but should they really be any higher? Season 3 is just not as good as season 2 of DM slayer. The pacing is all over the place with the constant switches between sad tragic backstory number 29 and the cool fights. This creates the problem that instead of a train of hype that comes to a head in an amazing battle ljke season 2, the train just constantly stops and just when it’s about to go fast again it’s stops. Also, the upper 5 and 4 demons are just not as interesting or intimidating as season 2 and mind you they are supposed to be stronger than the last 2 we fought. For season 3 and the training arc: yes, the last episode is absolutely amazing. But one episode cannot and should not save an entire rest of a season. The whole training arc was pointless and there is a reason for that. We have no indication at how strong half of the hashiras are because we haven’t seen them fight. The other half should already be strong enough because of the mark and they already fought upper demons in season 2 and 3. Instead of those guys teaching the hashiras what they have learned over the last few battles, they just focus on pointless training that we just should assume ‘makes them better’. Tanjiro trains and trains but we already know he is going to complete the training because last season proved that he can’t fail. Also, how can he get any stronger? He already is ‘the fucking strong’ and stuff… so like he is going to be 2% stronger after this? Hashiras themselves get no good character development, at least not anything memorable. I like character development way more than action in ANY show, but Demon slayer just doesn’t do it that well. It says: ‘I have sad backstory, now I am stronger and I have changed!’ without really showing that. The only guy who had a big character moment are the water Hashira dude and the Master, but mind you, for the last 4 fucking seasons we did not know shit about him and he was just ‘very important’.. and the moment we finally understand his pretty interesting character, he dies. In the coolest way possible, but stil. It just feels to me that the middle section of Demon slayer is wasted potential that should have made everyone closer and really develop their characters instead of… whatever this is. Despite my complaints, I still like it! I just don’t think that I can consider this last season ‘good’. But hey that’s just my opinion and IGN is poo poo anyway.

My funimation and Netflix hasn't been paid for in so long that I forgot about part of swordsmith village arc and the fact that there was a whole ass season with character lore that I missed 😭 Time to go pirating

I lost my comment once before, so I gotta type it again) Seeing “too much water” get into the video made my day. Here’s a long list of other messed up reviews and stuff IGN pulled off Alien: Isolation. 5.9/10. Complained about the AI being too hard, which was the point of the AI. The game was one of the greatest horror games out there. Doom 2016. 7.1/10. Complained about everything in the single player that a good doom game would have. Shin Megami Tensei V. 8/10. Spent the entire review comparing the game to persona. Xenoblade Chronicles definitive edition. 8/10. Didn’t get any character’s names right, put a spoiler in the review, and called it “the best version of the game” even though they gave the original and 3ds port higher scores. Sonic Unleased. 4.5/10. They hate sonic. They tried to make the game look bad. Dead Cells. The review that IGN “wrote” was plagiarised from another reviewer, word for word. The Last of Us part 2. 10/10. People really didn’t like this game because of a certain plot point. But yeah, you can’t spell ignorant without IGN.

I actually didn't think I'd find anyone who thinks the Hashira training arc is good.. not to mention that you called the Sword village arc "peak", which is pure delusion.. Demon Slayer is by far the most mid ongoing Shonen and the last two seasons have been ass to say the least. Touch grass bro

Right, this season was nothing to write home about at all. IGN got it right for once. They also stretched this short ass arc into an 8 episode season which is just overkill.

Too low for sure. Could have been maybe a good 6 or 7 out of 10. Meanwhile My Hero Academia shoehorned a 5 episode throwback on their recent season just so they can extend the whole season . It took me one whole episode to realize its all one whole throwback per episode.
