@@jv8462 It won't work with this mod list, but in Vanilla Shogun 2 you can get a military alliance with Takeda on the first turn you meet them as Uesegi. Then, with some shrew diplomacy and military access, you can get them to join wars even against the Hojo

I recently finished a tall Ikki campaign. Being a pacifist and only capturing the immediate areas around Kioto and getting those sweet trade deals. After a few turns I realized that I was infact playing an Otomo campaign but without gunpowder. And I took that personally...Good times

First time as the Ikko Ikki, Otomo became my enemies, the fuckers missionaries are my nightmares. They owned half the maps. The christians revolted, in province where there are no christians, including my capital. I had to send my army all the ways to kyushu while converting them, their ninjas killed my monks and no metsukes to kill them. After beating them, I was preparing for realm dvided, one province rebelled and somehow became ikkoikki. All my best armies in Kyushu. My inlaws betrayed me, Three daimyos of mine died in different battles. It was the most fun campaign I play. Running around avoiding getting fucked. Try to attack only weakspots. Making vassals and leaving their gift regiment to delay enemies superior armies. The cause came from the Otomo, they attack me for no reason, and their missionaries are a night mare.

The AI ikko ikki is a total beast, every time they get huge and powerful, because they don’t have the religious unhappiness that the player gets. If you play as the Hattori or Oda you can keep them in check, but if not they just get too powerful, their units are amazing, and AI doesn’t really have cost/upkeep issues
