@@LucarioDoT I play Shogun 2, the vanilla one, no modes. At first, I thought naval thing is important especially when prevent naval landing. Then I realized, if you want to naval supremacy it is impossible if you not christian. Therefore, if I stay buddhist or Ikko Ikki, I rather put strong garrison on coastal province Rather rely on navy stopping those. Because naval in shogun 2 is lame and for me it is sucks. Basically just floating box boarding etc. No cannon except nanban trade ship which you need to convert to christianity. The point is, you don't need navy at all to win the game, but having naval supremacy is good too although it is not necessary.

See the Japanese, with their long tradition of and penchant for boarding action, used sharp-keeled "V" profile bottoms - those are great for straight speed (thus closing the distance quickly) but not so much agility and turning radius. The Koreans OTOH used the typical continental Asian flat-bottomed junk hull type - not as fast but rather stable and with good turning characteristics. (We may incidentally note that large modern warships of the classic big-gun era used similarly boxlike hull profiles for similar reasons.) In practice this meant the Koreans could usually sail rings around the Japanese and merrily blast away with their cannon. (And THEN you had the practically un-boardable turtle ships...) IIRC their few serious naval losses were all due to dumbass admirals who had the bright idea to engage in narrow waters where the agility advantage was negated and the Japanese could thus actually reliably get into boarding range.

Just in time as I finally beat my first campaign as the Tokugawa. Fun fact: Tokugawa mounted gunners don't need any formation for a full volley as they somehow don't hit eachother. AND they can fire and RELOAD WHILE MOVING. This means if you can keep your infantry alive while you micro you essentially have an m60 machine gun mounted on horseback which can melt enemy cavalry and bodyguard squads

Even on low supplise the larger force should in theory be able to quickly shank the remaining enemise or atleast be able to claim victory over the fort as they are already there and inside the fort outnumbering the defenders I mean he only had 15 guys left

To be honest, I was questioning myself why I watched this video since most vids I watched about RTS games (Like this one, for example) gives me some valuable insight, but lacks on keeping me interested to finish the whole video. This, however, wasn't what I was expecting at all. How this game turned into a napoleon war type of gameplay (gunpowder and cannons) past the 3 minute marker...complete awe and happiness. The destruction, the madness, the PotC memes. You sir just earned my interest and respects. Have a like and my sub, fam. Oh and the naval battles. Didn't know that this game had naval battles in them.

@@Pilps I find that every game is different the mod just makes it a lot more interesting with some big clans not making it to the late game as they are surrounded by smaller ones. Always find the Shimazu clan do well though
