This brings such a funny image in my head. Guy jumps down, challenges group, gets kicked in the balls and keels over, and then the whole group surrounds him and kicks him while he's down, gang-style, until they stop because they got tired of kicking. The dude stands up, jetpacks up to a roof, and says "they are worthy". I dunno, it's hilarious to me.

There were a lot of ways the DM could have handled it. The DMPC could have been using a slave that was probably not as strong, and I’m not sure if there’s illusions in Dark Heresy, but it could have been an illusion after the first hit. Seriously, he didn’t have to be impervious to everything.

Yeah dark heresy is a bit of a rocket tag sort of game. it's not DND where you just eat damage, and the monsters are just massive bags of hit points. played a homebrew version where everyone was orks. fucking fun as all hell.

I think some beings known as Greater Daemons have over 150 HP (Or as the system calls them “Wounds”). Greater daemons are in the lore some of the most powerful creatures that exist in the entire universe.

But throwing a party against a greater daemon and them besting it would put them on the same level as the primarchs, which of course cannot be true.

They are even more health than that. I think a Great Unclean One (the one with the highest wound count) has about 300 wounds. Armour and traits like unnatural toughness can also really start adding up, and making most regular weapons pretty toothless in the Dark Heresy family of games. You're pretty unlikely to harm a space marine if all you've got is a lasgun for an example, and there are tougher things out there.
