I have not watched the video yet, but social media is definitely significant and affects our lives and mental well-being in a major way. I know someone, who is a doctor, and is addicted to social media. It is quite surprising! He constantly posts whether he is at work, home, or even during his vacation. Posting while on vacation clearly indicates addiction and a lack of enjoyment in the moment. It is not just the younger generation who are addicted to social media; even individuals in high-ranking positions are affected. It is truly disheartening and alarming. Personally, I have been off social media for 10 years and have never regretted it. Moreover, I have noticed that KZbin is also becoming problematic, so I make sure to limit my time spent on the platform.

Thanks for sharing! You're absolutely right, it's not just the younger generation, the effects are our human nature, not necessarily age.

i'm still on socials but took a 2 month break from youtube at the end of this past year. it was hard at first but i heard someone say "the platform you're on most is the one you need a break from most" so that settled it for me.

The pedestal we put social media on is ruining our lives. Social Media isn't a bad thing but my abuse of it is a problem and my need for reassurance from complete strangers who don't even know me from a nail in the wall is whats my biggest issue and I really need to take care of it.

I’ve probably had like 7 social media accounts LOL I’ve always been aware of my addiction so I would delete the account and then eventually fall back into the trap and created a new one. The longest I have been off of social media has been 8 months like two years ago. I deleted my latest account in June of 2023 and whenever I feel tempted to see “what I’m missing” lol I’ll go into my husbands account since he refuses to delete his account that keeps me from the delete-create-delete cycle LOL But HONESTLY every time I go in it gives me the ick 🙄 I CANT stand it anymore. It feels like my neurons die slowly whenever I login and see all the show offs, the inspirational quotes, Bible verses, and selfies!!!!! Why can’t we just see something, admite it, store it in our memory (not the camera roll), and move on with life. Why is every precious moment picture worthy. Whyyyyy are we so desperate for validation. I genuinely feel like the LORD has delivered me from this addiction. He has made me hate social media with a passion. And I am SO grateful for that.

My instagram just officially deleted. At first I was a little bit anxious and now I am relieved. It has been something on my to-do list for a long time. I moved to a different state and disappeared off of social media. It is time to reclaim our time!

I don't think social media is bad its just the way its being used mostly for nonsense and people overuse it. To much of anything can be bad for you moderation is the key at least when there were computers you could only use the internet at home or the library but now with these phones its 24/7 access honestly I feel like life was better without it the direction this world is going in crazy and its only getting worst

Not to float my own boat but i have been away from all the major sm apps for over three years now and im never coming back. My life has improved in every way u can think of, Especially mentally and spiritually. I do have a slight porn addiction but its not an "every single day" kind of thing. A few times a week.

Can you create a video on the things that you like to do when you’re tempted to go on social media? Or anything that you like to do in your free time?

I'll make an updated video on this topic for sure! I made one similar a few years ago that you can find here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eHPNqZqodqeNoJo
