Except Essendon bid on Jack when we drafted him so he would have been on an AFL list. In addition he's played over 50 matches and is Carlton's best pressure forward with a great right foot and unselfish gameplay. Ben may not have made it I agree, but Jack is a good player. He's not his dad, but few fullbacks in the history of the game have been SOS' level, so people need to stop blindly taking swipes at Jack for not being 5-time All-Australian level in talent.

How is the Rudd situation remotely similar? Rudd was deposed without a substantial explanation. Silvagni was fired and disagreed with the implied explanation.

Rudd was attacked by Saturation Mining Industry sponsored adds. He was undermined. Once his numbers went down labor panicked. Rudd was shaking things up and we all believed those adds and then he was gone.

Essendon have the uneviable record of the longest run without a finals win in the AFL, but if you look at Carltons record since their last flag in 1995 they're the worst performing team of the 21st century. Bad desicions are the norm for Carlton and to throw a club legen under the bus is just another in the long list.

Ross Lyon .... I like the way he talks. I would pay to hear him speak. He's the best thing in the media and is a great loss to clubland. If the the AFL business was not predicated on win/loss ...... If goals scored was the defining attribute the whole industry would mature.
