maybe chose truth over mysteries If you are wondering about the question of whether your sexuality is a sin or not, I welcome you to consider the following thoughts for clarification. Let’s look at some basic fundamental facts based on extensive research & ongoing R&D. During fetal development a verity of biochemical agents are introduced which determine the development of the fetus. Major agents such as testosterone & estrogen & a host of others agents determine size, weight, hair color, eye color & sexuality along with a host of other traits. Variations in the amount & timing of the introduction of these agents have a major effect in our development. The fetus is a passive participant & has no influence in these matters. Sexuality, for example, & all other secondary traits are thus given to us. Well, this begs the question, is homosexuality a sin. If your religion or belief system states that it is, then there can be no argument. These are the rules based on this system’s dogma. If you accept this system, you must accept the rules. This is your only choice which is condemnation. If, however, you are in a belief system based on logic, reason, observation & common sense, & no reliance on spirituality the conclusion is totally different. Replacing ancient religion & mythology with reason leads to another conclusion. Leaving religions that use condemnation & ridicule for control, can be the first step in becoming a true human being minus any imposed or fabricated guilt. There exist many variations of human sexual expression. When you leave various ancient religious beliefs behind & chose knowledge based in research, you can see & understand the true nature of humanity. You leave ignorance, hatred, & prejudice behind. In the book Gay Straight & the Reason Why by Simon Levay PhD, explanations regarding this aspect of humanity are clearly explained & is based on research. While I am not gay, I highly recommend this book. Being gay is no more of a sin than having red hair. They are both based on genetics & clearly not a sin. There is nothing wrong with you. This is the true choice. Peace

@@dan69052 well then it's a good thing I'm in a Church that doesn't use condemnation or ridicule to control! The Catholic Church teaches that homosexual acts are sinful, not that homosexual people are evil. Hope that clears things up. I will not reply further.

@@chase.23 Indeed! I have only found people who understand human struggle and crosses - whether that be attraction or addiction or circumstance or any other thing - and none of them are a "third rail." There has only been love and acceptance and understanding from everyone I've encountered - because everyone has struggles, weaknesses, and sin - and because everyone has a Savior!

I used to live in OC and St. Michael’s abbey was my every weekend church. They are one of the main reasons I converted to Catholicism as a teenager! My parents are atheist and I’m 14 I just recently was baptized and confirmed in Arizona. St. Michael’s abbey really led me to convert. I’m sad I don’t go anymore but when I visit OC I’ll definitely be going back like I used to every weekend. May God bless you!

I think we don't even understand what sacred is anymore, including many Catholics. People want to remove the altar rails and make the Mass casual or more "inclusive." It just demonstrates that we have forgotten what Mass is for. We are trying to set something apart *exclusively* for God in the Mass, just like how a priest or nun sets their own life apart exclusively for God. Thank you to these priests who are bringing back sacred beauty ❤️🕊

Before moving several years ago, my wife and I belonged to a parish whose pastoral assistant seemed to believe that the ultimate goal of Mass was to get as many laypeople as possible on the altar. Every Sunday there was such a chorus line of “extraordinary ministers” that the priest would be lost among them. It got to a point where now I’ll receive Communion only from a priest or a deacon.

@Kjt853 Yeah, unfortunately, I've seen many similar things. They genuinely think they are doing good, but they don't realize that their judgememt of why this is good comes from the individualist mindset of the world that is all about elevating individual people, and they are elevating individual laypeople at the expense of reverence for the most holy Eucharist. It's a worldly mindset.

Catholicism is the most beautiful religion of them all. Art, music and architecture can be the mouthpiece for the supernatural. Many are drawn to Catholicism because of that. Unfortunately, Catholicism has also chosen to embrace postmodern art and architecture. It hurts the heart to see.

What a beautiful, relevant video. Last April, after spending 5 days at Knock Shrine in Knock, Ireland, I stayed for 2 days at Glenstal Abbey in Co. Limerick, Ireland. The fathers were the Benedictine monks. What a moving experience with several times praying of the Liturgy of the Hours, noontime Mass, and meals with the monks. In-between we spent our quiet time in meditation.

Tell me you don't believe in miracles or the power of prayer. 55 years ago I sat at a bonfire with 50 or so other kids listening spellbound while a priest (with a slightly military bearing) told the tale of seven men who escaped penniless from communist Hungary when the secret police suppressed their 800 year old monastery. It was St Michael's summer camp on a dusty terrace covered in gravel with a few low brick buildings surrounded by mustard weed, tarantulas and rattlesnakes. Now watch the video. God Bless Fr. (Abbot) Parker, O. Praem. and his six companions

John 3:16 KJV "For GOD so loved the world, that HE gave HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, that whosoever believes in HIM should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For GOD sent not HIS SON into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through HIM might be saved. 18 He that believes on HIM is not condemned: but he that believes not is condemned already, because he has not believed in the NAME of the ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD." Note: According to GOD's Holy Scriptures a true believer in CHRIST has everlasting/eternal life and is not condemned and will go to Heaven immediately upon death. (John 10:27-30 KJV) (2 Corinthians 5:8 KJV) Note: The RCC denies that.

@@craigsherman4480 No, that is double talk. The Holy scriptures are absolutely preserved and are inspired of GOD from the very first but your sinner made traditions and sinner pope declarations that came during and throughout hundreds of years of apostacy after CHRIST have twisted the meanings and it is quite obvious to anyone who reads the Holy Scriptures who makes a reasonable and rational conclusion can understand what they say although believing what they say is by GOD's grace which the RCC denies since you trust in your RCC works and please take note that grace and works cannot go together and that they cancel out one another. The adultery of the eye is the lustful look and the adultery of the ears is listening to voluptuous (song or talk) and the adultery of the tongue is licentious speech and the adultery of the hand is the lustful grip (embrace) and the adultery of the feet is to walk (to the place) where he intends to commit adultery and the heart yearns and desires which he may or may not put into effect.
