In my case, I retain the message when i read it. I watch video as a guide to find the direction to solve a particular problem. And then read the article(s) in depth to find the solution. Retention has no benefit if at the end, it won't solve the user problem. This is my say. Best wishes. :)

Agreed! Everyone's retention is different depending on the medium, it's awesome how they all intertwine to solve our problems!
