I have metastatic prostate cancer & undergoing ADT. I walk/exercise about 1.5 hrs a day in addition to spending time in prayer & meditation. I feel quite good and have a good quality of life. Exercise is HUGE if you are on hormone therapy.

(Black Male/San Diego)Been on ADT Hormone Therapy for five weeks and have had previous Robotic Surgery and Radiation Therapy in 2016/2017 respectively. I am a former Airborne Vietnam combat veteran,. I have continued to have a disciplined exercise program all my life and it has continued since my first injection. I have felt no loss of strength or muscle mass and have only experienced occasional hot flashes which are manageable. Your videos on the importance of exercising are an inspiration.

I’m in the same place as you are. Gotta get going to beat the downs after hormone therapy and soon to begin IMRT. I found it helpful to set a schedule that I’ve calendared on my iPhone. Seems to have helped so far. Positively seems to be the Key. Good luck in your fight against the mental, emotional, and physical fatigue. 👍🏽🙏🏽

My scans were clean and have been offered hormone therapy to slow progression while i wait. Don't want to do this if i can avoid it as i undertstand it will knock me down for the summer. As a health coach and PA charged with running a prostate survivorship program, I say, YES YES YES. Thanks for echoing what I've been saying for years for everyone, but, especially our aging population. The body wants to be in motion, the brain thrives on the chemicals from exercise, just start somewhere, and avoid comparing your old self to new self. Even if you have to "prancerise," just do it! :)

I have PC stage 4 diagnosed 15 months ago. I have got back into bike riding and now do 8 hours a week of high intensity riding on a road bike. I feel great and I love it. I am sure it is helping me deal with this. My oncologist thinks its his meds ( ADT and Erleada) and the radio treatment that is working, I think me slogging away on the bike is a big factor

When it comes to exercise, I (74 yrs) feel like I've been hit with a double whammy. First, it took me a really long time to adjust my exercise routine to the pandemic. And, just as I was finally settling down to a new satisfactory routine, came PC, eventually leading to RP and a six-week “don't lift over 10 lbs” period from which I am once again slowly working back. All of this exacerbated by lingering shoulder pain that developed during the pandemic period. Sigh.

Inactivity is a killer. Here in the UK our old age care homes are full of elderly people unable to look after themselves, largely due to our unhealthy lifestyles. Millions of elderly people warehoused in the "day room" sitting in a semi-circle around a television. The only exercise they get is to shuffle to the dining room, shuffle back to the day room, then shuffle off to bed. The mindset in the UK is that once you are over 70, inactivity is the norm.

So - why is "exercise" said to benefit/work against the existence of prostate cancer. And if that is to be taken as gospel, then what sort is likely to be of use and WHY? I have yet to see any medical explanation for the cause of prostate cancer and that begs the question: if the cause cannot be supplied, then how can the effect to remedied? Diet and general lifestyle seem to be more relevant to prevention/cure, allowing for genetic inheritance as a factor.

I'm getting mine two days and it will help me feel so confident about my final choice knowing I've done all I possibly can to have the best information handy at the surgeons and my fingertips! Sir, Exercise will increase muscle mass. .It will also increase the production of testosterone. Tumor/cancer feed on testosterone. Is this correct? .My PSA is now 2.7 however my Gleason score is 7. My rads score is now at 4. I had my biopsy this morning. 65 YOM in excellent health. My father passed because his prostate cancer metastasized and spread.. I do not smoke or drink. Can you shed any light on this? If necessary I will have the prostate removed. Thank you, Ken

I was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer when I was 58 by chance, as I had no symptoms, androgen suppression destroyed my life , I am now 65 and on testosterone replacement therapy for almost 2 years my last PSA test was 0.6 , so in my experience the testosterone theory is a myth
@alanfaber12613 жыл бұрын
Exercise increases Testosterone. But isn’t that testosterone created primarily I. The testes? The ADT is suppressing that testosterone generated so exercise should only benefit the cancer
