The Importance of Shoulders in Inversions - NOT FOR BEGINNERS. In this practice Lin works on the shoulders and armpit regions to help the yoga student understand how the shoulder action affects the base of the pose when you go upside down. She introduces variations on the inversions, like Parivritta Eka Pada Sirsasana (Revolved One Footed Action in Headstand) and Halasana (Plough or Plow Pose). In this class we do Supta Konasana and Eka Pada Halasana, before going into Salamba Sarvangasana (Shoulderstand). These variations are only suitable for those students who are competent and comfortable in the basic inversions like SIrsasana and Sarvangasana.
