The IMPOSSIBLE job nobody wanted- whole home backup with GivEnergy AIO and gateway - COMPLETED mate

This was one of the hardest domestic solar projects we have tackled so far. Helping a wonderful customer get the install they always wanted.
With the consumer unit in the middle of the house, main electrical supply on one side and garage over the other it wasnt simple!
We have taken hard wired data, CTs and future provision for an EV to the garage and joined in a new solar array on the flat roof extension.
This customer now has the power to run off grid on power loss and keep the solar generating at the same time!
With an East/West split away that bell generation curve should really complement the usuage/system and was a good call by the customer at the last minute imho.

Great video bud as always, how come you went with the growatt inverter instead of giv energy for both systems?

GivEnergy don’t currently have a string inverter in the range. Hybrid is quite costly when most of the function won’t be used. Lesson I’ve learned along the way lol.

Interesting you went for east/west rather than all south, does the yield turn out bigger with fitting the panels in this orientation?

Was originally planned for south facing but due to the spacing between rows you have less panels so overall the generation is higher in this configuration. East west splits more generally provide nice generation throughout a longer window of the day but true south is always best pound for pound. To answer your question in this particular setup the east/west config gives the best generation due to the space available for more panels. Thanks

Have you any info on bi-directional breaker for input to consumer unit .ta

The breakers are ABB and bi directional in the gateway. The consumer unit is Proteus and again rcbos and MCBs both bi directional. Data sheets are on the manufacturer’s websites.
