I know people think Nothing's products are gimmicks but at least they are TRYING to do something different from everyone else. The modular aspect of their budget CMF products is genius. Honestly would love to see modular phones become more of a mainstream thing. I just wish nothing would offer smaller screen options though.

tbh, there is not much really "modular" about this phone (except for the backplate) and in return you lose a decent waterproof rating. also, no nfc and -apparently still- no possibility to change the ringtone for each simcard independently. the modularity, btw, is also not a new concept (it usually fails) but it's a great way for nothing to present a secondary brand ofcourse. it's definitely a decent phone, but let's not say that they are doing something amazing... and the little things like i mentioned are very weird things to not have, even when considering the pricepoint.

Im sure The gimmick is for marketing and get people talking. The software in this phone works so well with the chipset. Without doubt this cmf phone gives great user experience at 1/5 the price of flagships. Of course there will be compromises at this price. For instance Camera is just like a whatever you paid for

What i like about android phone is whatever camera setup thrown by manufacturers i can always download gcam and get the best the setup can offer.

People have criticised this for lacking a user-removable battery, especially since the back is removable, and I too think it is such a missed opportunity, BUT if you look at the bigger picture: this is a phone which is stupid easy to open up compared to all other phones today, and moreover they were gracious enough to use some great battery pull-tabs to make battery replacement easy and safe. Yes, the battery isn't user-removable but it's better than being glued down; yes, the back is user-removable and yet the battery isn't, but it's better that that back be removable than not! People should try to look on the bright side. It could have been better, but it could have been as bad as every other phone!

The thing about this phone is that it's perfect for me. The things that it's missing, I don't use. I only use bluetooth headphones. I rarely ever take pictures. I don't use nfc. That means that the drawbacks of the phone don't even apply to me. So I get a phone that has better performance than my current one, bigger battery, customizability, and the potential to have one of the coolest modding scenes I've ever seen on a phone. And I get all that for only $200.

Don't buy the higher end model. A 128GB SD card do not cost 30€. You can get 512gb SD cards for 40€. With 128+512gb, you have more than enough.

Max brightness is more 1200 than 2000. And battery is maybe “easily accessible” but you lose your warranty if you change it 😭

Under certain circumstances the display will reach around 2000 nits . But auto peak brightness is generally around 1200 nits. Manual brightness using the slider reaches around 700 nits, which is above average for a phone especially at this price point

Easily repairable? With a non-removable battery, protected by "warranty void" stickers? Sorry, I don't think so. It LOOKS repairable. It's a cool phone, cool design. But repairability is not what they had in mind with this phone.
