Ohhhh, thank you soooOOOooo much, Markus. I wasn't aware of the difference between 'Latch' and 'Touch' modes. So helpful! Made my day.

I have a FaderPort, but typically I automate volume manually by adding and adjusting nodes. Thank you for explaining how the modes work!

Thank you. Coming from other DAWs that lack touch mode I got into the habit of using latch mode. This fixes that and makes it more granular.

Quite clear. I see write is similar to lock mode but if replay is in write mode, previous automation will be overwritten. So, let's be careful!

How do u get smooth points, like moving the gain of the automation point in tiny increments instead of the automation line jumping every db ever time u raise or lower the line?

hey Marcus, could you Please make a quick Video about writing a gain automation...you know like Waves Vocal Rider, MAutoVolume etc. i would like to try a automation type of workflow instead of doing it all manually with the Clip Gain Envelopes...because the Envelopes dont have no auto curve bend feature sounds hard cuttet

Hi Marcus, are there also these advanced automation features like in pro tools? Like previewing Automation and take it over for parts between loop marker for example. Like to use the Faderport for this! Or can you also do a video with some Faderport 8/16 automation hacks? Thanks and kindly Marek

Thank you for your explanation on this and all of your Studio One videos. I was planning on switching to studio One but after 2 years of projects I was still unable to come off ProTools. Also, I just upgraded to Ableton 11. Studio One is entirely too inefficient with plugins. It crashes on less than half the plugins I can use on PT or Live. Studio One is unstable and crashes. It has audio dropouts for no reason. It loses saved macros after upgrading 3rd party plugins or so randomly that I can’t give an excuse. It has several macro glitches and functions will simply not work at various times for no apparent reason. In short it is too unstable for professional use. Not to mention the lack of quality time measurement features. I want to say it’s worse in version 5. This studio one instability is on both my windows 17 rammed up laptop and desktop. I got an M1 Mac hoping for an improvement and it still gets stalled running plugins real time. I bought the sphere and couldn’t be more disappointed in upgrades instead getting “producer packs” waste of money since I already had V5. They added performance mode that is total garbage. They also added a project tab for mastering that I had no need for. On the other end, Pro Tools while it doesn’t offer so many of the features I love on S1 is bulletproof stable. Ableton 11 is such a pleasure and though it doesn’t like as many plugins either, it’s feature set and stability are so responsive and smooth it’s crazy. I’ve tried using studio one the same way I loop material in Live and it just doesn’t have the same mojo. I’ve done professional producing full time for over 30 years and it’s not worth the time lost rebooting, redoing work, having plugin glitches, sacrificing my mix down plugins to save resources and doing effects rendering constantly for the same reasons on Studio One. Presonus needs to beef up their team and instead of trying to sell hardware headphones and speakers focus on making a solid platform that can be depended on day in and day out. The management seems fine Def and it’s got the makings of a great DAW. In short, I want to love studio one but am met with a let down every single time in the heat of battle. It can’t stand up to the workload like ProTools or Ableton Live. I hope they get their act together.

Anybody dealing with the nearly constant frowny/sad face (i think the error used to be the 666 error) on the master fader since the latest s1 update? it kills playback and made s1 totally unusable. i rolled back to the prior version and now i am all good. hmmm
