By far one of the best channels about Studio One and music production I've found for long time. Thank you so much, seriously, your videos help me a lot to understand many things. These are not about tricks, but really understanding about music production.

My Goodness - what an excellent, in-depth, careful, precise and really informative session on automation! Its answered several questions I had. Only one thing remains - how/where do I find the one most obvious, yet apparently missing automation option - namely, midi volume control change 7, for any of the virtual instruments tracks I create using Vienna Ensemble Pro server, or for that matter any other of my VI's? Clicking on the Add automation box never seems to even display midi volume, expression, etc options (like the other mainstream DAW's of course do). Funny that this is automatically available for audio tracks - but why not for what I use most, ie instrument tracks?

Hey B, it’s been a lil while, just bought the S15.5 course, didn’t really need it but with the sale price it’s a no brainer and always good to have for reference or if I get stuck, plus, I’ll always support you, you’ve helped me so much over the years. Hope all is good with you, still loving over seas? Probably the best move for you in my opinion with the way the states are going these days. I’m having some computer issues, built a new one but I’m having a hard time getting it up and running, if I can’t get it going I may do a one on one and pick your brain for an hour or two when I get some time, hopefully I’ll figure it out myself so I don’t have to bug you, lol. Take care dude and thanks for all you do!

Hey, Pat. Good to hear from you, man. And, of course, thanks so much for your continued support over these years! Hope all is going well with you and your family. Yeah, I'm still in SE Asia. Spent the last 3 years in Vietnam and just got to Thailand a few days ago. i have no intentions on coming back to the states! Geez, between the constant shootings, political division, racial tensions, inflation...I'll stay here! Haha. Anyhow, I'm sure you'll sort out your new computer. But if not, I'm always here, man. I love what I do and that's why I've been working on this business for so long. It's never a bother. Alright, hope you've had some time to relax these days, will talk to you later! Thanks again!

Great tutorial as usual. Thanks. But how to thin out nodes in an already recorded midi track? Can't find this anywhere.
@quantaaudio
@quantaaudio 5 ай бұрын
Not sure of any way to reduce them after they have been created. But if you go to the Studio One options menu, select the "Advanced" tab, and then the "Automation" section, there is a "Reduction Level" setting and this will allow you to specify the amount of automatic reduction of nodes when recording automation. Higher percentages mean less nodes.

@@quantaaudio Yes I already knew that from you nice video. This is strange because I have been producing music since Voyetra and there was a feature where you could just thin out any MIDI date. Go figure!

The "A" does not appear for any Analog Lab V button. I cannot do any automation with any of the options explained. The only option is the mixer fader. I'm using Studio One 5 Artist for Windows

If you want short tutorials, check out PreSonus' official tutorial snippets with Joe Gilder or Gregor Beyerle. Otherwise, don't expect a self-proclaimed in-depth tutorial to be short and then blame the creator because you can't handle more than five minutes at a time.
