I believe I was in 6th or 7th grade when Nixon was sworn in as President. We had a substitute teacher that day because our teacher Mrs Hamer went to Washington for the Inauguration festivities she was Democrat but said she always wanted to go to an Inauguration so she decided to go. She had so many pictures on a slide that she showed us when she returned. She said she got to see Nixon and Pat in their limousine on the Parade route.

The first, and only, president ever to be forced out of office, Richard Nixon was a tragic figure. He had hundreds of associates, thousands of acquaintances. Most of these people admired him and many of them appreciated the opportunities he had opened up for them. But only a few ever really liked him. Even with close friends, there was distance. Nixon wasn't the type of guy you would want to go hiking, fishing, or backpacking with. Nearly every reporter who has covered Nixon commented that he was very smart but he also had a stunted personality. He couldn't deal with people, was never good at small talk

4:57 Michigan Governor George Romney. As soon as he was offered a cabinet position in the Nixon Administration he bailed out of the state. The riots were in 1967 and by leaving, he didn't have to deal with that situation anymore. He was also influential in destroying Hudson Motors.

blinkzone1 Thanks to Watergate and a hostile liberal media. Nixon was closer than any other President and it's not even close. Just look up what the Soviets, Russians, Middle Eastern nations, and Israel wrote about him. History will do this man justice, someday.

It’s amazing how Obama can intentionally leave American diplomats to die, and then purposely attempt to cover up the reason for their deaths. But Nixon got heat for trying to cover up an act of STEALING PAPERS. As if that’s anywhere close to the worst that a President has ever done. Lol. That’s Democrats for you.
