Just throwing this out there. I say take these rambles and talk on them for like 30 min and put them out as podcasts! I miss your podcast!

Love that the bag review frequency is ticking back up! For consideration... I don't know if it's my deteriorating vision, my crappy monitors, or my dirty glasses, but I'd love a whole ton more light when you review black bags. Just finding it hard to see the exterior features in the top-down views. Still awesome though.

Very interesting backpacking. I love packs with this design. I've had the YNOT magnetica you reviewed for the last 6 years and I still adore it. If it ever gives out, this might be a good replacement option. I wish the shoulder strap pocket could be removed on this one, though, or that the company will offer some customization options to strip certain features down, as I'd probably only use the backpack for EDC around town rather than out in the backcountry. How does the backpack do in the rain?

Chase, Here is the AI's answer: While I enjoy this thoughtful question about language and our relationship with technology, I can't think of an existing word in German, Japanese, or other languages that captures exactly this specific feeling. It's a fascinating modern phenomenon though - that moment of conscious resistance against instant gratification and choosing to sit with uncertainty or work something out mentally. German and Japanese are often noted for having compound words or concepts that capture complex emotional states - for example, "waldeinsamkeit" (the feeling of being alone in the woods) or "mono no aware" (the bittersweet awareness of life's transience). While there might not be a precise word for what you're describing, this feeling seems related to concepts like: The German "Muße" - which describes leisurely contemplation without pressure The Japanese "boketto" (ぼけっと) - the act of gazing vacantly into the distance without thinking about anything specific Would you be interested in trying to construct what this word might look like in German? Given German's tendency to form compound words, we could theoretically create something like "Suchmüdigkeit" (search-tiredness) or "Nachschlagverzicht" (looking-up-renunciation), though these are just creative exercises rather than actual words.

The problem with being able to look it up so quick (which I love sometimes) is everyone gets the same answer! If we each went to the library to look up the answer, we may all get different versions, cause we wouldn’t all pick the same book. Each author and book will give different thoughts on that answer. Just something I’ve been thinking about. Remember libraries-sigh…….

That is the closest backpack to my exact needs that I've seen so far. Really excellent design, good looks. I might just be buying this one.

This is why I love your videos. I saw that sling and immediately went "this is perfect for me!" and then you went into detail and quickly pointed out several things that basically removed it from consideration. I ride a motorcycle and any bag I buy has to be able to stay closed in the wind. The sling has two large pockets which are held together by magnets and hope and I can't trust them at 80 mph. Not that I'm in a rush. My Evergoods bag continues to be my MVP.

you are able to relocate the compression webbing to fasten the front pouch for this, but no worries if it's still not fit for you. Thank you!

Great video as usual. And man… I JUST had this conversation with my friends on this little writing retreat. Everyone is flopping out their phones to tap away when something “unknown but easily knowable” came up. I miss the space when we could just be dumb. I’m reminded of something I think an Italian writer said, I think Italo Calvino and I will paraphrase and not look it up… anyway… he said he thought it was more interesting when someone came into his library and instead of assuming he read all the books or asked him about the books he read, that same guest came to him and asked him which ones he had not read. … similar idea I think We can’t know everything. It’s okay to be human. And it’s almost more interesting the things we haven’t yet learned!

That sling would be an instant buy if the interior mesh pockets had zippers. Without them, the contents just dump out into the main compartment. Ugh.

I disagree, but to each their own. I think it is a nice blend of business and outdoorsy. Plus I know those materials will look and feel high quality because I have bags made of them.
@AlpineAlchemy-k8p2 ай бұрын
We moved away from having a fully formed pack since it just gets so heavy on its own so quick. Without a doubt, though, is every material the highest of quality as well as the interaction exerpeince top notch.
