You may have had this idea or someone may have already said something. So here it is, you write a book on knots just like you have done here and Connie writes one on her cooking. I try keeping all this in mind and even write it down sometimes but then I forget it or put it in the trash. So you'd be helping me and many many other knuckle heads like myself. I have followed Felix Immler for quite a while, his tips on sharpening an Axe or Hatchet using a file and a rag blew my mind when I tried it! His accent is heavey but his English has come along ways from two year ago! He is like a big boy scout! He has a lot of fun making his videos too! I think Slyder28 has a great Idea for a mug, or "Hi I'm Lonnie"

More examples of the universality of the marlin spike hitch, one of the first of five knots that everyone should learn (along with clove hitch/constricter, bowline, Canadian jam knot and timber hitch). Thank you for mentioning Felix Immler, the master of the SAK.

My most used knots. The marlin spike hitch, and the prusic knot, the surgeons loop, and the truckers hitch.

The "climbing knot" you referred to is a Marline Spike hitch, very useful as demonstrated. The Klemheist hitch is most commonly used for mountain climbing and can be used to ascend just a hanging rope. Thanks for sharing, bush planes are common over my head too, so no worries there. Hello Lonnie, I am glad that you like my idea so much. Since I was a child I wanted to go to Canada once. Even wanted to emigrate before. But it didn't work out because of the real estate crisis in the USA. So I went to Switzerland. Thanks to the rope tensioner and felix, a nice subscriber from Canada has invited me to bushcraft in the Rocky Mountains! I'm so happy. I could never have done it alone. If you do happen to get over to our section of Alaska maybe we could get together. The airports that out of state travelers fly into are quite a distance from where we live. Anchorage is the closest. We only get into Anchorage once or twice a year on average because of the expense of driving there.

The knot at 4:30 and many other places is called a marlin spike hitch. Very good knot to learn in tarps and bushcraft. I also use it for my hammock suspension.

You have simplified many complex ridgelines. Some of those knots got me out from dying in a tree well with boot laces. 22.20 be good for packing game.

@@Toramt Was 11 yrs old already wet in a 20" plus vertical tree well. Doubled boot laces sticking branches into the snow to use as footholds using laces as foot holds. There were people all around and could not hear me.
