You only start to get judged for messing with saves and resets after you’ve finished the pacifist route, (or maybe in the sans fight), and at this point, you’ve seen everything you need to see to have “finished” the game. I’m not even sure it dictates how to play, because the same character who begs you not to reset (Flowey) is a hypocrite for doing so.

I like the rare instances where writers acknowledge that Bruce is just as mentally ill as the Joker, and when Batman ceases to exist so does the Joker. This whole conversation was not between Batman and Joker, but between two men. Neither wanting to go back, but knowing that, inevitably, they will.

Why are people so intent on putting it on him when he's already unhealthy? Do they want him to become a crazed murderer who can't stop once he has that solution on the table? Assuming he could stop, he then has to live with inflicting the same pain on someone that he went through and that will only make it all worse. There are police officers, a judicial system or surely a hero who is less in danger from the act than him or superman. Even a government assassin would be better.

My heart's out to Alfred. The loss of Thomas and Martha was devastating. Raising a young boy on a revenge quest was devastating. Seeing that boy stubbornly continue his quest had to be devastating. Then he sees that boy have a second chance at happiness, and is overjoyed to see how fullfilled he looks. Just to see him go back to being that man of vengeance. Geeeeeeez that's heavy.

As sorry as i am for what Alfred is going through, but he had to know that sooner or later something in Bruce clicks. I mean it's his whole gimmick. Disappear for a while and than to drop back and weak havoc on criminals. Hell if Thomas could not persuade him to stop being Batman(and Thomas's and Martha's deaths were the main source of trauma for Bruce, which made hi push himself harder) than what chance Alfred had? I give you that it must've been heartbreaking for him. All those burdens Bruce carried for so long, were gone. All trauma, all that he had suffered, gone. Yet, i can't help myself but think... How much of a Bruce was this man? I mean, memories are what forms out identity, our personality. Without them, you cannot grow or learn. Basically you are restored to factory settings and any personal progress or growth is lost forever. Can you imagine that you suddenly lost all of your memories? Would it still be you? Just because he had Bruce's face does not mean that deep inside it was really him.

Batman: A vigilante in order to defend gothems citizens from suffering a fate as terrible as his. Joker: A nihilist without remorse in his actions and wants to make the city as madcapped as he is because he can Both exact opposites but when they stop for a moment and not act as crazy as they are (and yes i'm calling batman crazy cause in their right mind goes around fighting looking like that?) There's clearly a middle ground they both share and that's trying to find some time to rest.

Joker has always been a self deleter he doesn’t value life, not even his own. Which I guess fits with the description of a nihilist. Similarly Batman doesn’t value his own life but cares for the lives of Gotham. In short Batman has a martyr complex. For a brief moment when neither know who they are they’re just broken men and struggle with the very idea of life. Joker was about to end it until he felt a peace in the park he never felt, when told the Park can’t be saved he lost any excuse to not do it.

I always wondered, in a more "realistic" setting, what the chemicals Joker fell into would do to him. The "they turned his skin white, his lips red, and his hair green-the same chemical did all that" doesn't work as well if you want to have a chemical-origin Joker in a more grounded setting. I find what they did here interesting: his skin is unnaturally pale, obviously chemically discolored, but his hair and lips are normal. They split the difference and didn't go full makeup Joker like the Nolan movies-this Joker's skin really is that white, but he puts on the around-the-mouth makeup and dyes his hair when he's in Joker Mode.
