Devin, I’ve owned this shoe. As a person with wide feet, I found that the EE wide version is sufficient. My favorite part of this shoe is the fit around the ankle is like a sock, and of course the Vibram soles. Great review.

Great video! I have 2 pairs of the mids and wore a pair out in the past. Love them for hiking and just as an everyday shoe. The goretex/waterproofing holds up really well even compared to other goretex boots I've owned in the past. Well executed piece of footwear.

I've also learned that shoe companies generally stick to a certain foot model. So when you find a brand of hiking shoes that really works for you, it usually makes sense to stick with them. For me it's HanWag (a German brand) - I can really keep going in those without pains or blisters.

Correct. The last that is used will be the same across multiple models, which gives the consistency in sizing and fit. I also appreciate that the non GTX and the GTX versions have the same sizing. Where with the La Sportiva models I wore, you'd have to size up on the GTX version cause they didn't fit the same.

I went out as soon as you 1st did a video about it, loved the look and functionality but my foot is so used to wide toe box like altra so never bought one the wide was just too wide where I didn't need it

Campo version makes a great travel/adventure shoe and comes in wide. The laces don’t always stayed tied but they dry quickly and are light.

And they are vegan from what I understand, which is important to some folks.

Shoes are incredibly important, but since feet vary so much its hard to find the right shoe. Congrats on finding the one that suits pretty much all you need. My shoe for this year is going to be the Merrill Agility Peak 5's. Already impressed with the aggressive Vibram sole on them sticking on the slick rock. I'll keep an eye for sales on the 2650 and may pick up a pair for the future.

First time seeing this shoe. I am currently using the Merrell Agility Peak 5 and I lovr them. I used boots forever but switched this past fall and love trail runners now. Funny thing is my merrells are from Huckberry!!

I prefer to hike in boots, and have the Danner Mountain 600 Leaf GTX and love them! Danner will also resole their shoes and boots, making them great for sustainability.

I've not tried the Mountain 600. I'd like to. Only certain models are able to be resoled. The 2650 cannot be resoled, unfortunately.

I've no experience with these shoes but think it's great with reviews where the reviewer has really used (and worn out) a product. Also appreciate that you're not a trail running shoe fanatic. There are some of those and IMO the important thing is fit and features, not if it's called a trail runner, a hiking shoe or even a light boot.

Just gotta find what fits your foot and what you enjoy walking in and doesn’t cause problems for your foot. I really wanted to like Altra, I even grew up in the same neighborhood as one of the founders, so I wanted to support them. But it just wasn’t right for me. Thank you!

I’d recommend going with the suede upper when you do try the low option.
